There was a MOUSE running in the restaurant and the staff saw but did nothing!! Absolutely DISGUSTING!
My friend and I were seated next to the bar and kitchen area. Toward the end of the meal, I saw a mouse run out of the kitchen under a cupboard in the restaurant. I AM NOT JOKING. A MOUSE. The staff saw it but did absolutely nothing, even looking up at us, hoping we didn't see it. After paying, I went to the bar to speak to the elderly man there who could speak English (the servers couldn't really speak English). I politely and softly told him that I saw a mouse and that it was under the cupboard. All he replied was 'thank you for telling us.' And just looked at me after that. I kid you not, he did nothing else. After a very long awkward silence he continued and said that the mouse was there every 3 weeks!!!!! And that the city refuses to do anything to get rid of it!!!! WHY WOULD HE BE BLAMING THE CITY IS BEYOND ME. I was appalled!!! I angrily told him that it's not something a customer would expect, especially from a restaurant like theirs. To which he replied 'thank you for telling us.' And just looked at me blankly. At no point did he even try to get rid of the hiding mouse. The cupboard was about 40cm from the tables.
IT IS NOT ACCEPTABLE TO HAVE A MOUSE RUNNING AROUND. The way the staff dealt with the whole situation was truly shocking. I am so disgusted with the place. No one...
Read moreFranziskaner is undoubtedly a great place to experience traditional German cuisine. One of its highlights is the classic pork knuckle, served with staple sides like potatoes in various styles and red cabbage. Unfortunately, during our visit (around 8:00 p.m.), the pork knuckle was already sold out, which was quite disappointing given that it’s one of the restaurant’s signature dishes.
Instead, we tried other traditional options such as meatballs in beer sauce and different pork dishes with potatoes. The food was well presented, with generous portions and authentic flavors.
The beer selection is diverse and of excellent quality, with highlights including the Franziskaner Hefe-Weissbier, Kellerbier, and other Bavarian specialties. The atmosphere is charming, enhanced by waitstaff dressed in traditional Bavarian attire, which adds to the cultural experience.
However, the evening took an unfortunate turn when we noticed a small mouse walking under our table—clearly not something one expects in a restaurant of this level. When we reported it to the manager, his reaction was surprisingly lighthearted and dismissive, which we found inappropriate given the seriousness of the issue.
This incident cast a shadow over what would otherwise have been a highly...
Read moreWant to experience authentic Bavarian food, you got to come to eat at Franziskaner. It’s a wonderful restaurant where you can truly enjoy hearty Southern German food and hospitality.
By the time you step into the restaurant, you are welcomed with amazing German enthusiasm and warmth. Servers are all wearing the Southern German Bavarian traditional custom. And the interior transports you to another German era. You know you’re going in for a treat of great German food.
Our big waiter gave us great recommendations of all the famous Bavarian dishes. Our orders covered them all that included sausages, sauerkraut, veggies, knuckle of pork and cold beers.
I highly recommend the crispy knuckle of pork. The skin is so crispy and the meat inside is so tender. the meat felt off bone literally.
Another thing you got to have is their beer. We got light beers and they were so good. Much better than the beers we’ve ever had in the states.
We will definitely be back for more of these foods before we...
