I feel bad writing this review because the server actually seemed like a nice individual. However at a restaurant of this quality there are certain standards that should be at least the bare minimum. We had a reservation at 8:30 pm and weren’t seated until 8:40 after arriving 10 minutes early. There was only one host working and a line of 5 reservations waiting to be seated. One of these tables happened to get their starter before we had even been given a drink menu (they gave us food menus to start). It took another half an hour for us to get our drinks and put in our food orders. When that did happen, one of the appetizers we ordered was sold out. (I know this happens, but they included it on our bill at the end of the meal). When our entrees did come out, they brought the wrong entree for my girlfriend and she had to wait another 20 minutes for her food (sashimi). All told it was almost 3 hours from the time we were seated until we were able to pay the check. I’m sure some people would not mind not being rushed, but when this length is due to your table largely being ignored and continuous mistakes being made by the staff it is very frustrating. All we were offered was a “we are very sorry! This is not normal. Please give us another chance.” I don’t see this happening as our customer experience was so poor.

The only reason for this being two stars is the food is actually good as well as the ambiance. And although that combination is a majority of the experience the service and professionalism was so poor I can’t in good conscience recommend this...

Great Japanese restaurant in Hamburg. The journey begins as soon as you enter the restaurant. You descend the stairs and are immediately greeted in a very friendly manner.

I was already escorted to my table and offered an aperitif while I waited for my other colleagues.

They even brought me a book about Japanese cuisine, so I didn't get bored.

The ambience is very modern and therefore hardly reminiscent of Japan. Nevertheless, it looks very elegant and classy.

The service was super friendly from start to finish and always on hand.

We opted for the sharing menu. This gave us the opportunity to taste through the menu.

Everything was really phenomenal. From the starter to the middle course. The main course consisted of a t-bone steak, iberico fillet, black cod and squid. Both fish dishes were absolutely superb. Only the t-bone steak was cold and the meat unfortunately a bit tough. With the iberico, it would have been nice if he had brought us the duck, as it is a signature dish of the house.

Overall, we were very satisfied with everything.

Ambience 4 stars Service 5 stars Food 4 stars

Many thanks to Dennis for the great evening and the...

We spontaneously decided to stop by Nikki Nine Bar one evening, and it turned out to be an excellent choice. Even though the place was fully booked, the staff made an effort to find us a spot, which we really appreciated. Right from the entrance, you can feel the sophisticated yet effortlessly chic atmosphere. The crowd was stylish and upscale, and the venue itself exudes elegance and high standards from start to finish. There’s a cloakroom where you can leave your outerwear, adding to the overall comfort. spoiler : there are a dancefloor, quite small but… it make sense, so it turns to disco later on but just till midnight something like that The vibe was fantastic, with great music, delicious cocktails, and a top-notch ambiance. A lovely bonus was the complimentary snacks (olives, nuts, etc.) served with drinks. Another great feature is that you can leave your car with the valet, and there’s a doorman at the entrance, which adds to the overall high-end experience. We’ll definitely be coming back—this place has earned a spot on our list of favorites!

One word: perfect. I've been working in restaurants, I grew up with chefs and cooks and I can tell: this restaurant is indeed one of the best restaurants in hamburg. No reservation, they let us in giving us what was for me and my partner one of the best tables. Free view on the kitchen. You pay the quality for sure but all the staff was amazingly nice and vigilant. Food excellent, the cold starter; kobe's tartar was delicious and a gift for our eyes. The quality of the food is 100% T O P, I found myself pretty happy to be able to eat Tuna's sashimi, fish that is indeed hard to work with. The color, the taste, EVERYTHING amazing. Chapeux to the kitchen and the service who followed us with a big smile and a funny exchange of words that kept us company in a non-intrusive way. It will be hard to find myself in another place that was good as this one.

Nikkei Nine is a true gem of Nikkei cuisine. The atmosphere is quite nice, although it's an underground bar-restaurant, but the decoration is quite warm and nice. Furthermore, the food is great. I had the chance to try some of the anticuchos, which were fantastic, and really nice grilled and marinated with super marinades. Furthermore, I had the chance to try the tuna with poncho and truffle, which was a fantastic, remarkable dish that it's a must to eat over there. And the causa with the tempura prawns was extremely nice as well. While the korokke dish didn’t quite meet expectations, it didn’t detract from the overall experience. The black cod was good as well, and in general the service was great, and the cocktails were very nice, although they didn't have any pisco cocktail that you expect to have in a Peruvian restaurant.
