Rudolph's — Restaurant in Hamburg

I went there because I heard much about the gluten free pizza. Beforehand I already looked at the menu and saw that they charge 2€ more for gluten-free pizza (which is quite normal and I do understand) So I ordered a margarita (I think, something quite similar) and after I saw all these great pizzas arriving from the kitchen I was really excited. When my pizza arrived it was very flat. Like, vinyl record flat. I was quite disappointed after I already paid more for the pizza. I didn’t take a photo as it was quite dark in the restaurant (which I liked though) I saw many different gluten-free pizzas over the years and I know they can look as good as the other pizzas, Vapiano does that as an example. And when they look as good as the others, I understand charging more as gluten free is quite a trouble. I ordered the crème brûlée as a dessert and I would really recommend it! We went for lunch to try places that offer gluten-free options. We both had pizza, I a normal one, my partner took a gluten-free with pesto. Positives: We had our 12 weeks baby and the staff couldn’t be better, they were very nice and accommodating for us. The Vorspeise and my pizza were very good. Worth the money and I would come back. I will come back to try more pizzas 👍

Negative: My partner’s pizza was really not good, that I was embarrassed. She ordered the pizza with chicken, cheese and pesto but vegan and gluten free, at the moment of serving (not before) the staff said they left the pesto out because it is not vegan. That’s nice! But she would have chosen something else, because what she ate looked and tasted like a bad frozen pizza 😔 I was hoping this becomes a place we regularly come to. I had been dying to go here ever since I heard they serve vegan pizza. I came here with my partner and family visiting from the U.S.

When we got to the restaurant, we waited for at least 5 minutes before any of the staff even noticed us and offered us a table. It was very strange just standing there and seeing thd staff pass us by totally ignoring us.

Once we ordered, despite the restaurant being half empty it took an hour till our food was served. This is unacceptable in my opinion. When we orederd dessert the servers completely forgot that we asked for coffee too and we had to go and remind them. The food was very good, and the servers were all very friendly, it was a shame that the service itself was so poor.

I hope that the pitiful service was unusual, because I would really like your eat here again, but I don't know if it's worth giving them...
