Star Coffee Mannheim — Restaurant in Mannheim

Me and my family live in  Bingen am Rhein which is 1 hour away from Mannheim, but despite this distance we drive almost every weekend to get my husband's favourite Ice Caramel Mocha. But today, unfortunately the lady who took the order meesed it up, and charged me for the regular hot caramel coffee. When the barista understood that she made a mistake, both the lady who took the order and barista looked at me as if it was MY MISTAKE and in addition to that none of those people even apologized or remade me a new coffee, I only heart "tut mir leid". If u guys were really sorry for that confusion and ur own mistake u'd make me a new one for free, as other GOOD CAFÈS do. I would be surprised if those people working there couldn't understand me but I clearly said Ice Caramel Mocha, in German language it is the same "Ice Caramel Mocha". First things first: I'm a regular. I like this place. The coffee is good, the staff is great and I love the pastries and baked goods. The remodel was a great idea, too - and necessary, since the place is always full to bursting. There's a good balance between hard back chairs to work at and cozy seats to lounge in. The vibe is good. But two things really rub me the wrong way: the restrooms and the open doors. The restrooms often stink and the sink doesn't work properly. You're also forced to use a dinky little fan to dry your hands and it makes the entire space feel unhygienic. And in winter it's cold as hell inside, since all doors are open at all times. I get that the actual door is too small. But please, if you advertise yourself as Mannheim's living room, keep the temperature...

My favourite coffee shop! It‘s near the central station, you only need to walk a few minutes straight down the street! They have a variety of drinks and food (sandwiches, cake, cupcakes,…). Even though they also provide plant milk none of the food is vegan sadly :/ The atmosphere is very relaxing and there is always nice music playing in the background! The staff is very friendly and you are able to sit down for several hours to study and work. There are bigger tables to work in groups or smaller ones if you want to work alone. You can also charge your devices there and you have free WIFI. I absolutely recommend a visit even though it‘s often very busy/full because people like it so much there :D
