It is a really cosy and small place so if you really want to sit down as soon as you go in, it is better to book a table in advance. When tables are full, the place gets really packed with people, and you will be sitting really close to other guests, so there will be no 1.5m distance from one another. If you mind about it, it is best to avoid this place during the lunch time. That aside, the food we had was incredibly tasty and this place is the first place in Europe that I have seen that has a roll cake made with taro potato. And it tasted absolutely amazing. Very busy on weekends (usually all tables reserved!) but the friendly staff still manages to fit me into an open time slot every time. They have weekly changing lunch specials, and on summer weekends frequently offer shaved ice desserts (e.g. with Taiwanese style or Japanese style toppings). Before important Chinese/Taiwanese festivals (like Dragon Boat Festival, Lantern Festival etc.) you can even place orders for traditionally eaten specialties like zongzi, tangyuan etc. for taking home to celebrate those events. Read moreI honestly love the desserts here, so far I have tried cheesecake, yuzu tart and matcha tart and they have all been amazing. Yuzu tart is definitely my favourite, the intense yuzu flavour and crunchy crust (albeit a little too hard to bite) are a match made in heaven! Milk tea is pretty decent too.
But I wasn’t so impressed with the beef noodles. The beef is super tender and delicious, but the noodles are not cooked evenly. I will try their crispy chicken next time, since it is a Taiwanese specialty.
Service is amazing though! Maybe because it is a taiwanese...
