Usually D&D is quite good but the one on Karlsplatz is not worth the money. I was there quite a few times and the food quality depends on who is working there. Most of the employees do not understand the menu and create a completely different dish. I mean it’s of course ok when you are knew but there should be one person responsible that understands the menu and is able to properly prepare it. The salad costs 8-10 EUR, therefore I expect the staff to know the dishes. I was not disappointed once but two, three and four times until I wrote this review. So I went there 4 times in a period of 5 weeks and the staff planning and training did not improve at all... in the photo you see the vegan red Thai curry bowl as well as the example picture of how it should be. I ate two spoons. The point is there is a lot missing, it’s not the recipe. I asked the guy 3 times if he could add the normal stuff, which is written down on the menu. He didn’t get it, so after the second employee came and looked at this handwritten paper with the menu ingredients and still wasn’t able to prepare it (rice instead of quinoa, no salad or green stuff like basil, a little little little little bit of red Thai curry), I took it. Read moreI used to go to Dean and David almost once at weeks and from the past months is getting worst. There is a man who treats the customers really bad and it is really unfriendly. I guess is the store manager because he doesn't wear a uniform or any logo from dean and David but he serves the food. I'm allergic to beets and when I order the lachs avocado bowl, I always indicate so and they put always that on the ticket. Today they did again but when the store manager was making the salad, he was close to put the red beet on it. I told him that he should not because I am allergic and after that he start to scream to me sentence like this: "then no salad?!, then no avocado?! then no lachs?!". All those comments were out of line. I answered him that it was only the red beet.
After that, he gave me my salad and dressing roughly and almost fell on the floorAll this situation was in front of the rest of the employees and one of them was laughing. Fortunately for your company the place was almost empty and there were only two of us waiting...
Read moreI go to D&D stores in my hometown of Berlin quite often and have an overall good experience. Went here a couple of times due to work and I'm unhappy with their food, service and store. The amount of toppings are so scarce that I could count them on one hand. The bread tasted old and I think it was from the day before. The store itself was dirty and empty plates and used cutlery were on the dirty tables. They use the same spatula for meat and vegetables that I ordered for my vegetarian dish. I've seen the supposedly manager in this store a couple of times and the way how he treats his customers is appalling. No smile, no ''enjoy your food'' and no customer focus. I notice how it reflects on the rest of the employees. If I was the regional manager of the district of this store, I would send a mystery shopper and have a close look at what's happening here.
