tl;dr: excellent cuts cooked to perfection, and remarkable service
I must confess I am not the biggest fan of beef and do not have it often. I am glad that, for one of the rare occasions when I do, I came here.
The "basic" idea is to pick a cut, and some optional sides. There is a good variety of cuts to pick from, including picanha (they make a point to tell you it has a fat layer, haha). I decided to try the wagyu filet, since I had never had a big piece. It was cooked perfectly and melted in my mouth. I felt like it could have been seasoned with pepper as well by default, but they do bring you some. My sides (truffle mashed potatoes and Brussel sprouts with bacon and walnuts) paired quite well with the meat, especially the bacon fat đ€€
We had also decided to try the trio of appetizers before our meat. The goat cheese crÚme brûlée was quite interesting, as well as the tartar. Make sure not to eat too much and save space for the main character of the night though.
We both have a sweet tooth and were craving something sweet after our meat feats, so we decided to go for dessert, and Little London has a convenient surprise trio of desserts. Let's just say it was a liiiiiitle bit more than we expected đ the regular crĂšme brĂ»lĂ©e, panna cotta, and sorbets were delicious though! I almost ordered another crĂšme brĂ»lĂ©e, but I decided I wanted to live to see another day.
After writing so much about the food, it's time to compliment their service, which was superb across the board. Kind, efficient, approachable. I unfortunately do not recall the name of our lovely server, but let it be known that it was flawless.
We definitely feel like we will return to try some more cuts (and more crĂšme...
Read moreLet me tell you, The Little London is not just a restaurant, it's an experience. The staff here? Absolute legends. Theyâve got that old-school hospitality where they actually give a damn if you're having a good time. It's like they were born to be in the service industryâand they know their stuff! You ever had a cocktail that was so good you briefly considered dropping everything and becoming a bartender yourself? Yeah, thatâs what happens here. The cocktail menu is longer than a line for free beer, and these bartenders know how to make them sing.
But letâs talk about the gin. Oh, the gin. Youâve got more gin choices here than Tinder profiles, and each one is better than the last. They should keep this place open 24/7 just so I can work my way through the whole collection. Honestly, I could live here, and if I didn't have a job to go back to, I probably would.
Now, the food. Holy hell. I stared at that menu like it was a final exam. Couldnât decide. It all looked too damn good. In the end, I went with the T-Bone. And let me tell you, that steak was so tender I didnât know whether to eat it or introduce it to my parents. Perfectly cooked, perfectly seasoned, and the size of a small country. I mean, this thing was a beast. I almost asked for a moment of silence before digging in.
In fact, this place has made me realize we need more vegans, vegetarians, and people who donât drink in this world. Because the more of them there are, the more seats are open for the rest of us at spots like this. So, cheers to all the non-meat-eaters and sober folkâkeep doing what you're doing, and Iâll keep your seat warm at The...
Read moreI would not recommend this place at all, it took my server at minimum 5~10 minutes before I was even offered a menu.
On top of that I was asked if Iâd like some water, which I kindly accepted.
The food arrived, the chips was pretty OK and the sauce I ordered with it was sadly quite poor. The meat was in their defense very good, the one and only redeeming quality.
I kindly ask for the bill and to my surprise there is a charge of 6 EUR for the water I had previously been offered, now, while charging for water isnât necessarily unheard of, charging 6 EUR for water..? Thatâs a crime in of itself. Had I been told or informed my water costed more than my beer I obviously wouldâve kindly declined the offer.
On top of this lovely surprise my server was now also haggling for a tip, which in my own opinion wasnât really deserved. I donât mind tipping but I will admit Iâm from a country were tipping is unheard of, however, if given good service I think a tip is definitely justified, this was not one of those occasions.
After telling my server twice I was happy with the amount on the receipt and her not backing down, I reluctantly caved in and tipped my server.
The moral of the story here is, if you want good meat I reckon Munich has plenty better or just as good restaurants around, go there and if you absolutely want to come to this one? Then kindly refuse the water offer and mentally prepare yourself for a debate when the...
