Sichuan Küche Nudelbar — Restaurant in Munich

Be wary of being discriminated against if you're not a known customer or asian/oriental.

The teriyaki chicken was delightfully spicy and a nice portion. Spicy wonton soup and plain noodle soup had a similar spicy/teriyaki type base as the chicken and both were nice with a good amount of ingredients to the broth ratio.

However, while we liked the food, the service was horrendous. We ordered...noting you have to hover near the kitchen to catch the wait staff coming in or out to be able to even place your order. Okay, accomplished that, sat at a side bar. While waiting for our food, a table opened up and we moved to the table....literally a foot from where we were at the side bar.

Teriyaki chicken was served. More people came in. People that ordered ahead of us AND after us were served. We kept waiting for our soup. More people that came in after us served, take out orders picked up. Finally was able to catch the servers attention and asked about our soup. She acted clueless and sent over one of the guys to ask what was wrong. My husband politely explained we were still waiting for our soup while others that came in after us were already served. He asked what we ordered (he was the one that originally took the order) and scurried off.

Finally they brought out my husband's soup. I waited and waited and then got up to ask AGAIN about my soup. He now puts in google translator that because we changed seats they couldn't figure out where to serve the order. Keep in mind, we moved precisely ONE FOOT and the place only has 4 tables and side bar seating for about 8 more people.

I did finally get my soup and it was quite nice.

But I can honestly not recommend the place because of the service and how they made us feel...

Sad to say that it's disappointing. This shop used to be so good but there is a big drop in quality and service after raising the price. I ordered 2 dishes: chicken salad and rice noodles with pork intestines. Obviously, I couldn't finish both. Generally it's still not too bad, just disappointing because it used to be so good. I can unfortunately no longer recommend this shop.

The chicken was not as tender as before. The flavor changed (not in a good way). There was no corriander like before. There were hard little pieces of bones or herbs in the chicken. You have to be careful.

The rice noodles also changed. The noodles was not well cooked when served. The middle of the noodles was still a bit hard. The broth was very oily. Again no corriander and there's only one tiny piece of cabbage. No longer impressive.

Service was not as good as before. The auntie was welcoming but not so attentive. I asked to take the leftovers away and got only one container. She told me to put the two dishes in one container. I had to called her 3 times in 15 mins after putting the leftovers in the container to pay the bill. She was always on her phone and inattentive.

--Original review with 5 stars-- The pics are the noodles we already ate a bit. The noodles are perfect. The soup is HEAVEN. Aromatic and flavorful. As a Thai, I would not describe it as spicy. It's the nice numbing flavor from the Sichuan peppercorns. The beef and intestines are well cooked. 🤤This restaurant is EPIC! 🤩The aunty who runs the restaurant is super welcome. 🙏🏻Great food and service. Thank you for cooking such yummy dishes for us. Please keep up the good work. Definitely going...

I went to restaurant twice because I love sichuan food and it's so close to my hotel. The food are good! But I was super disappointed by their service. The first time, I waited 20 minutes for the beef rice dish that was pre-cooked and just needed to be put in a bowl. I asked a few times, and they said that they were serving dishes in the order of ordering time. However, it was apparently not the case when the people who came in 15 minutes after me got their food before me and theirs were noodles, which needed to be cooked. They just totally forgot about my order for some reason. I got upset and questioned them. While they still didn't admit, I saw them just put the pre-cooked stew beef and rice in a bowl, and handed over to me... It could have been done 20 minutes ago in a few seconds! 😡

I thought to give them a second chance. I ordered the same stew beef and rice for takeaway. Ironically after I opened the dish on my way to the airport, there was no beef in it! Just veges and rice. 😓

How could they make such a mistake?
