We stayed in Athens for two weeks and had breakfast here everyday, plus a few dinners as well. Its offerings are always exceedingly flavorful, inexpensive and full of variety.

I have traveled all over Italy a great deal (for more than six months in total), and have been to foodie paradise Shanghai, Paris, New York and Hong Kong, but this is likely the single most reliably satisfying spot I have ever been to. Indeed this single store can nearly rival an entire street of pastry shops at the heart of Hong Kong or New York.

Our favorites are their breakfast, particularly their great variety of phyllo wrapped pastry, lightly fried to a crispy perfection, with a myriads of fillings from savory ones like olive and tomato, fennel/spinach & feta, or chicken to gently sweet treats like bougatsa. Another amazing feat the sheer variety of breakfast offering. The phyllo base pastry alone we can find five or six types every morning, and they rotate their selection over the course of the week so the total varieties of breakfast (not counting sandwiches and desserts) offering must number over two dozens!

And we also enjoy their sandwiches and salads, always well balanced and often very healthy despite their rich flavors (see my photo). Because of a vow, we could only sample their very extensive desert sparingly, but it is worth noting that their tiramisu, fragrantly creamy and not too sweet, beats any other we have had in Italy or in the U.S.

The atmosphere here is that of a longtime neighborhood joint where everyone knows everyone, as befitting an establishment of thirty years in the same spot. Yet, despite our being interloping tourists, the young staff there inevitably treat us with kindness and patience: they speak excellent English and can explain to us what each intriguing treat is.

And it is also very inexpensive to enjoy. A breakfast for two that lasted us for a whole day before dinner rarely cost more than 10 euros! In addition the staff often throw in additional treats for us, sometimes for the holidays but often, we surmise, just out of general kindness!

So yeah, this really is our favorite single establishment over our years of travels for its impossible combination of quality, variety, reliability and...

We were lucky enough to find this bakery on a busy Saturday morning. A very kind, helpful English speaking lady told us what the different items were. We had a warm ham and cheese puff pastry sandwich which was delicious.

The lady helping us also gave us a savory roll with cheese and red bell pepper, and a puff pastry similar to a spring roll, both were delicious. It was a very nice gift.

We are still enjoying some delicious Greek cookies.

This shop was a delight, so excited that we...

The best bakery/sweets shop on the planet. I know that sounds silly ( as I have not visited all bakeries on the planet) but I cannot imagine how anything can be better. I had a pistachio filled chocolate and a fruit confit enrobe en chocolat, while my wife had the traditional kataifi. They were all HEAVENLY. ( also all staff speaks very good English , and are very friendly...

Best baklava i’ve had throughout my holiday in Greece. Only $1.50 AUD. The worker also gave us a complimentary Muffin as they were about to close. Would recommend to any travellers looking for a sweet treat. lots of variety.

Chocolate croissant were well filled with chocolate. We had it for breakfast on the following morning and heated it in a microwave. It was amazing. Other little cakes were delicious. Definitely coming back for more.
