Κόκκινος Κρίνος — Restaurant in Athens

This restaurant is right across the street from the Stanley Hotel. It had been previously recommended by another hotel guest. A large group of people went for dinner around 8pm. We were eating appetizers when a woman walks up pretending to be a waitress, grabbing the food. However, within a moment, we realized she was not an employee of the restaurant and one of the men with us, told her to stop because she was taking the food with her hands (not the plate, just the food). She walked out of the restaurant only too flick us off on the way out. After a few minutes, I realized she had stolen my iPhone X right off the table. The management didn't even seem to be bothered by the incident and when we told Hotel Stanley what had happened, we wanted to inform them to not send guests there because of the theft. Hotel Stanley also seemed unbothered by the incident. It was shocking because there are 2 doors in and out. The back door is on a side street and she came in, and left without anyone doing anything. I was staying in the Stanley hotel and was hungry during luchtime, so I decided to head to the restaurant that was literally 5 meters away from the entrance (on the opposite side of the street).

The restaurant wasn’t very inviting but the chef and his wife seemed very genuine and he really looked like he knew what he was doing. I ordered one gyros pita for only 4€, which is an amazing price! In todays economy youre usually looking at 6€+. The bread was great and soft but could’ve been more grilled The pork was straight from a souvlaki stick and was very nice and tender, tho it could’ve been a little more seasoned. The tzatziki was too sour

I waited for about 5mins+

The seating area wasn’t inviting, the decor was a bit tasteless and the air conditioning was making an annoying white noise.

All in all, considering that it only cost 4€, I’m very happy. If you’re in the area or staying in the Stanley, it is recommended to...

If i could put 0 zero star for these people i would ! Never saw so grumpy and mean people working in a restaurant maybe because i am a tourist. Because they were quite friendly with greek people. I asked for half a greek salad and ask if i could have it for half the price. He said yes and then charge me 2/3 of the price for it. I mean if it was only that, not a smile not a thank you when i try to get explanation nothing the just scream in greek. What kind of behaviour is this ? Worst experience ever in greece. And i said 1 month here with wonderful people this is a no go. Food was okay...
