TRULY AWFUL EXPERIENCE! We’ve been in Athens for the past 5 days and dined out every night having some wonderful meals - This was the complete opposite and was a total and utter disaster from start to finish. We didn’t even end up staying for our mains after our starters took an hour and twenty minutes to come out with only two arriving and then having to wait a further 15 minutes for the other starter which was cold and supposed to be hot. After ordering starters our waitress came over 20 minutes later to tell us they don’t actually have any mussels… How does it take 20 minutes to inform a guest of that from ordering? After working in hospitality in my younger years, I am fully aware that a table shouldn’t wait any longer than 10 minutes for a starter never mind 20 minutes to be told they don’t have what you ordered! Believe it or not, one of the mains actually came out before any of the starters and after us explaining to the manager that our starters haven’t even arrived yet, he said ‘Well, can I just leave this here?’ (On our table). Before any starters have arrived? Never seen that before in a restaurant and in hindsight we should have left then as his cluelessness about how bad he was coming across whilst at the table was such a major red flag. We decided to give them the benefit of the doubt as we were starving after a long day, but unfortunately it just kept going from bad to worse and we eventually left without having our mains with the manager refusing any discount or goodwill gesture, and after wasting our evening and ending a wonderful day in an upsetting way, this was hard to accept, but was an accurate reflection of how this place is ran. Genuinely never seen such incompetence from a manager in a supposedly decent restaurant before and their excuse was that they are really busy and only have two chefs… How it that the customers fault?! If you don’t have the chefs to run a kitchen then manage your bookings accordingly and don’t waste people’s time and hard earned money with woeful service and a bad attitude to go with it. I would honestly advise avoiding this place at all costs if you want an enjoyable dining experience and one that represents the prices they charge. Would rate 0 out of 5 if there was an option to do so. AVOID...

My husband and I just came back from this restaurant that was refer to us for their tiramisu. It was the most uncomfortable place we had visited so far. I order the Raviolli with Shrimp and Scampi because they did not had the one I wanted. Raviolli with shrimp only. I ask for greated or shredder parmesan cheese to added on top because that's HOW I LIKE IT. The waitress said that the chef will scream if I do that. Which I replied that I was the one eating and paying. She brought the Raviolli's with the parmesan cheese and while I was pouring the cheese and eating the chef LITERALLY YELL at me in front of others and said that I should chose another plate. REALLY? SERIOUSLY? I'm paying and I have to hear someone telling me how to eat my food? Horrible customer service and very disrespectful. I understand Italians may have their rules, but not everyone is italian and we don't have to abide to their rules when it comes for things like this. In top of that this restaurant is on GREECE not Italy! On a tourist site where many people from different countries and cultures come. My husband did not even wanted to finish his meal and of course we careless about the tiramissu. We just wanted to leave. No. I do not recommend this place if you want to eat your food how you wanted and at peace without a chef yelling at you while you eat. The only reason I gave 2 stars is because food is good, but there's many places with great food and outstanding service. By they way the place was empty while other restaurants were full. That should be a red...

My wife and I were visiting Athens as part of our honeymoon. We looked up restaurants near he Herodion Hotel (where we stayed) and picked Belpaese based on the ratings. Indeed, the food the day before yesterday was great and we had a younger lady that provided excellent service. We loved their Pasta and Tiramisu. We decided we were going to have the Tiramisu one last time before we leave.

Last evening at around 4pm (we had lunch at around 2.30pm), we decided to stop by for just Tiramisu. I mentioned to the server (middle aged lady) that we won't need menus as we're there for their Tiramisu. She sounded hesitant and asked me to wait (all this after she had poured water in our glasses) and spoke to this bigger man (in his early 60s, who was either high or drunk who may have been either the manager or owner). She came back and said, "we cannot serve just dessert, you have to order food or no service". I was taken aback while my wife was in the restroom. Without waiting, the bottle of water and the glasses were being taken off the table literally making me feel like they were kicking us out.

I'm not sure if this "rule" turned up because the owner/manager was racist or if he was just too drunk/high and wanted to power trip and found that we were the only customers around so he could. I pledged not to go back to this restaurant and will be sure to publish this information through other medias.

Bad service will be greeted with bad...

This Restaurant is offering Italian Cuisine. Upon arrival ( without reservation) we have received the last table outside in front of Restaurant and entrance door. Fast we received the Menu and ordered Pizza DIAVOLA (15 €) and Ravioli (25 €). The Pizza wasn't crispy and I wasn't impressed by the big slices of greasy Salami. What a pity that none of the staff has asked us if we wanted to have more drinks or a Dessert. Two (!) times one man (the Boss?, belonging to the staff) was standing 20 cm next to our table and hasn't removed the finished meals. In addition a waitress with long blond hair also was looking at our table and also hasn't removed the finished meals. So the Service was below average. Interesting is the text on the Menu for the Ravioli: " Hand made Ravioli, always different! Despite of the expensive price on the bill was written: " Ravioli Scampi e Gamberi "..But there were no Scampi or Gamberi in it. The presentation was poor as well. The location is 1 Kilometer away from the City Center! Although they have enough guests I (we) cannot recommend this Restaurant.

I ve been several times to this place. The food is always good. The only reason I put 4 stars is because of the non flexibility on their customer service and customer’s personal preferences. If a customer wants to add Parmesan cheese on their pasta con frutti di marre, you should allow them, and do not tell them how they gonna eat it. I understand why there is no flexibility, it’s because the owner is italian and he thinks is sacrilege to add cheese on this type of pasta, same as adding pineapple on the pizza. But at the end of the day since you have parmesan cheese in your store and a customer chose to visit you and pay for your food, just appreciate the visit and not act like a stubborn who wants to teach people how they will eat their food. Overall though the experience was good, and for all the times i visited this store, you know what you going to eat without surprises.

If you're looking for amazing, fresh, homemade Italian pasta in Athens, look no further! This place is a gem. We did not want to go to one of the touristy rooftops or restaurants in Monastiraki and were so happy to find this restaurant - hidden in Plaka, the chefs cook everything fresh in front of you and it's just like you were in Italy! Not only the food was amazing (lots of truffle in the truffle pasta, and the carbonara was just perfect), but also the service was impecable, the waiter was paying attention to every detail (he brought us an extra seat to leave our bag on and asked if we wanted to go inside when he saw we put our jacket on). And best of all, unlike most pasta dishes, the quantities are generous and it's cheap - around 10-13 euros depending on which pasta you choose! A must. Will definitely be back next time I'm in Athens!
