I recently had the pleasure of dining at Gods' Restaurant (Οινομαγειρείο των Θεών) in Athens, and it was truly a heavenly experience. Nestled in the heart of this historic city, the restaurant offers a delightful blend of classic Greek cuisine, warm hospitality, and a captivating ambiance. From the moment I stepped foot into Gods' Restaurant, I was immediately impressed by the inviting atmosphere. The decor effortlessly combines contemporary elements with traditional Greek aesthetics, creating a charming and comfortable space. The restaurant's attention to detail is evident in every aspect, from the well-prepared table settings to the thoughtfully arranged interior. The menu at Gods' Restaurant showcases the best of Greek culinary traditions, with a focus on classic dishes such as moussaka and souvlaki. I had the pleasure of trying these iconic dishes, and they were nothing short of exceptional. The flavors were authentic, and the presentation was artful, demonstrating the chef's dedication to both taste and aesthetics. Each bite was a delightful journey through the rich and diverse Greek cuisine. What truly sets Gods' Restaurant apart, however, is its outstanding staff. The team members are not only friendly and approachable but also highly knowledgeable. They effortlessly cater to the needs and preferences of their guests, offering excellent recommendations and ensuring a memorable dining experience. Their ability to converse in multiple languages added an international flair to the restaurant, making it a welcoming destination for visitors from all corners of the world. Beyond their culinary expertise, the staff at Gods' Restaurant possess a deep understanding of Athens' history. They willingly share their insights and anecdotes, adding an educational element to the dining experience. Their passion for their city shines through their storytelling, making the entire meal not only enjoyable but also enriching. I must emphasize that the attentive and forthcoming service at Gods' Restaurant truly elevated my dining experience. The staff's genuine enthusiasm and dedication to providing exceptional hospitality created an atmosphere that was both relaxed and engaging. Their personal touch made me feel like a valued guest, and I left with a sense of having been a part of something truly special. In conclusion, Gods' Restaurant in Athens is a culinary gem that offers a divine experience for all who visit. The impeccable preparation and presentation of classic Greek dishes, combined with the warm and knowledgeable staff, make for an unforgettable dining adventure. Whether you're a local or a traveler seeking an authentic taste of Greece, this restaurant is a must-visit. I wholeheartedly recommend Gods' Restaurant for anyone looking to indulge in exquisite Greek cuisine and immerse themselves in the rich history of Athens.

Wonderful experience with delicious food! We were so hungry the grilled feta appetizer we didn’t get the initial photo so there are a few more bites than in the picture. Our main course reminded me of some of the flavors my grandmother would use but was not part of traditional American cuisine so I hated eating these dishes in the US unless she cooked them. I’m so glad I had the courage to try them here as they were absolutely amazing and I am super picky about my food. My family is extremely diverse so experiencing some of the dishes from their own cultures creation was outstanding. I’m so glad we stopped to eat here! Souvlaki and Gyros were extremely delicious here in Greece at God’s Restaurant!! Oh and the service was wonderful as well. I only drink sweet wine and asked for whatever sweet wine they had available. It wasn’t until I asked for the 2nd glass what kind it was and the waiter mention a concoction as they didn’t have it. I have never experienced the above and beyond as this service in Greece to try and bring me something of my request. What they may not realize is it was the best sweet wine I have ever tasted and even better than my favorite from home!

Disappointing Experience at God's Restaurant I recently dined at God's Restaurant in Athens, Greece, and while there were a few positive aspects, my overall experience left much to be desired. Here is a balanced review of my visit: Pros: 1. Easy Availability: I appreciate that God's Restaurant is conveniently located and easily accessible. It was not challenging to find a table without a reservation. 2. Authentic Cuisine: The restaurant does a decent job of offering a variety of authentic dishes, which allowed me to sample traditional Greek cuisine. 3. Clean Restaurant: I must commend the cleanliness of the restaurant. The dining area and facilities were well-maintained, creating a pleasant environment. 4. Fun Atmosphere: The lively ambiance at God's Restaurant added a touch of enjoyment to the dining experience. It was nice to see people enjoying themselves and having a good time. 5. Quick Service: The service staff at God's Restaurant were attentive and prompt in taking our orders and delivering the food. The efficiency ensured that we didn't have to wait excessively. Cons: 1. Undercooked Chicken: One major disappointment was the undercooked chicken that was served. This not only affected the taste but also raised concerns about food safety. It's essential for any restaurant to ensure that all dishes are thoroughly cooked and meet appropriate standards. 2. Insensitive Comment by Server: A distressing incident occurred when our server made an insensitive comment about picture menus being for "Chinese people." This comment was not only inappropriate but also offensive, especially considering that my boyfriend is of Chinese descent. Such behavior is completely unacceptable and tarnished our experience. While there were a few positive aspects to God's Restaurant, the undercooked chicken and the server's offensive comment overshadowed the overall dining experience. I hope the management takes these issues seriously and addresses them to improve the quality of service and customer satisfaction in the future.

I would NOT recommend. My friend and I stopped in for lunch and were offered the day’s special of roasted lamb, an appetizer, and a soup. The waiter spoke highly of it so we happily obliged. The lamb was extremely dry and not warm at all. The appetizer and soup were okay, yet not amazing. Our drinks were one bottle of water. When asked for the check, it came out to be 56€! I asked for the waiter to break down the costs for this “lunch special” which was not on the menu. The lamb ended up being 27€, appetizer was 14€, and the soup was 12€. The waiter failed to let us know each item was charged separately and unnecessarily expensive. It was a calm atmosphere along with subtle chatter. About 15 min later, a group of musicians played and sang very loud music. I looked around and noticed other customers were a bit annoyed as the music was deafening. Had the food been amazing, I wouldn’t be writing this one star review. After bringing the check, the waiter asked for a 10% tip. I suggest the waiters clearly explain the lunch special isn’t really a special when each item is still charged separately with high costs.

As the evening was getting cool we decided to sit inside and were surprised to find that there is also an upstairs seating area which looked quite fun. We started with the grilled octopus which was absolutely delicious. The octopus was very tender with a lovely grilled flavour and it was served on a bed of spinach which with a squeeze of lemon juice made a perfect accompaniment. For my main course I had the kleftico which was great. The lamb shank was cooked with potatoes, tomatoes and cheese en papiotte, wrapped in foil. The lamb was beautifully tender as were the potatoes and the cheese really added to the flavours. It was a very generous portion and I struggled to try and finish all the veg. The house red was good and the service as always in Athens was very friendly and helpful. The whole meal of 1 starter, 2 main courses, a salad, bottle of still water and a 1/2 litre of house wine plus an extra glass of wine was 60 euros which was great value. Great food and very good service so highly recommended.

From my first contact with the staff at God's restaurant my stress level reduced - I was in capable hands and could relax and enjoy a Gluten Free meal. The wait staff and kitchen staff are friendly and knowledgeable and experienced in preparing meals for Coeliacs. The waiter guided me through the menu to ensure I had sufficient options. Questions were responded to professionally and a great choice of meals were available. I went with a Grilled Octopus starter which was cooked to perfection - very tasty indeed. For main course I went with the Chicken Fillet which was modified to guarantee Gluten Free. Very juicy and tasty and paired with a delicious salad. A complimentary dessert of Greek Yoghurt with Honey was provided - the perfect ending for my sweet tooth. The wine list contained an extensive range of local and international options. I went local and was not disappointed. The perfect stop for a Coeliac seeking a stress-free, delicious and safe gluten-free meal.
