Visiting Hyper Astro Bar in Athens was a truly unforgettable experience. Nestled atop the Athens Tower Hotel at Ermou & Athinas, this stylish rooftop bar offers panoramic views of the Acropolis that are especially magical at sunset .
The ambiance effortlessly blends modern elegance with laid-back comfort. Whether you're sipping coffee during the day or enjoying cocktails under the stars, the vibe is relaxed yet sophisticated. I visited in the evening and the soft music, city lights, and cool breeze created a wonderfully romantic atmosphere .
The menu is diverse and well-curated: expect fresh salads, creative appetizers, and flavorful main dishes like risotto, burgers, or fish. Brunch offerings also come highly recommended . The cocktail list is extensive and expertly mixed—several tipped them as "wonderful" and "signature" . A friend’s tip: wine and beer pair beautifully with the stunning surroundings .
Service deserves applause—friendly, prompt, and professional. Many reviewers praised the staff (“service was excellent,” “helpful host”) and I experienced the same: warm greetings and helpful recommendations . A few noted occasional delays during peak times, but overall impressions lean strongly positive .
Prices are moderate (€25–40 per person), which feels justified given the view, quality, and vibe . This is the kind of place you go for both the experience and great food—not just a drink.
In short: if you're in Athens and want stellar Acropolis views, creative cuisine, expertly crafted drinks, and welcoming service, Hyper Astro Bar is a must-visit...
Read moreWe arrived at 8pm. Seated us but told us we could only be seated until 8:30 at the table they put us at. She offered us a table right next to us if we were going to eat dinner but we were just having drinks. They Glared at us and talked about us the whole time we were there. We tried to get moved to the dinner table right next to us and just stay and eat so there wouldn’t be a problem but then all of a sudden that particular table was “reserved”. Funny because when you book a reservation with them you don’t get to choose your table. I’ve never been treated so badly. It was the head female host who mistreated us. We asked for our check at 8pm and it took them about 20 minutes to give it to us. We couldn’t leave until we paid. We tried to leave by 8:30. She would point at us and yell at the waiters for us still being there. Then my friend had to finish her drink. I saw the hostess make a motion to the waiter like she was telling him we were taking our sweet time finishing the drink. We were polite the whole time we were being treated so badly. They never once asked if we needed anything else. We were paying customers just like whoever came after us. We should have been treated with respect. It was our last night in Athens and it will always be in my memory of how badly it ended. We received VIP service everywhere...

My friend and I chose to go to this bar for the rooftop view of the Acropolis and made a reservation without being informed that there would be a €25 charge fee per person to sit on the rooftop. We paid the fees anyways without any complaints, since we figured that this was the nature of rooftop bars in Athens. However, what made our experience terrible was one of the servers who tended to our table. He was extremely rude and got upset at us for only ordering drinks but not food, and asked us very rudely why we were paying €25 for a reservation just to order drinks. We were initially intending to order drinks first and order food after we’ve had our drinks, but the distaste that the server left in our mouths made us not want to order food anymore. Many people around us only had drinks as well, so we were quite shocked that this was his attitude towards us, especially since we remained polite during our entire interaction. Upon paying the bill, the server aggressively and condescendingly repeated to my friend “€50” even though she heard him the first time and there were no communication issues. Overall, we do not recommend visiting the Hyper Astro Bar for your rooftop bar experience — you are better off looking at the Acropolis through the grounds of...
