I had an incredibly unpleasant experience at this Kayak location in Athens. When I arrived at the coffee counter, a female employee saw me, made direct eye contact, and immediately walked away without a word, leaving the station completely unmanned. A bald, tattooed man was nearby cleaning, and when I asked if I could order, he reluctantly responded, making it clear that serving customers was not a priority for him. After slowly finishing his cleaning, he finally made my coffee but then rudely barked “ELA MESA” at me instead of calling me over in a polite manner. When I went to pay, my card didn’t scan, which can happen anywhere, but the way the employee handled it was unacceptable. Instead of offering any patience, respect, or professionalism, he immediately became aggressive and confrontational, treating me as if I was personally inconveniencing him. When I decided to leave, he escalated even further, shouting insults at me as I walked away. Even if there was an issue with my payment, there is absolutely no excuse for speaking to customers like that. Someone with that level of hostility and disrespect should not be working in any service-related role. This was one of the worst customer service experiences I’ve had, and I would not recommend this place to anyone. Avoid...
Read moreAfter trying this place twice, I had to look at the negative reviews before I left mine. Most are very old, a year or more. My son, daughter in law and I experienced just the opposite of people complained about. The first time, we all had a scoop of ice cream. The place was busy and the staff took care of us right away. The ice cream was delicious and being from the USA, quite reasonably priced. The second time we went was the day of the two year anniversary of the largest train wreck in Greek history. There were massive protests with tens of thousands of people. Some rioting as well. Most places closed for the day or opened later. This location was very close to the action, and when it opened, it was slammed. We stood in a haphazard line waiting to order while watching the staff try and cope with an animated clientele barking orders at them. I give them a lot of credit for their patience. I would have been in "No soup for you" mode. Anyway, we got some ice cream, a crepe, and a piece of orange honey cake. All we delicious and we left happy and full. If you stay nearby you should definitely...
