I recently had the pleasure of dining at an Indian restaurant and I have to say that I was thoroughly impressed with the experience. The restaurant had a cozy and inviting atmosphere and the service was excellent.
As for the food, I have to start with the Yellow dal, which was absolutely delicious. The lentils were perfectly cooked and the spices were just right, creating a beautiful balance of flavors. It was creamy and had a lovely texture that went perfectly with the Bhindi masala.
Speaking of the Bhindi masala, it was one of the best vegetable dishes I've had in a long time. The okra was cooked to perfection and the spices used were just right, making it flavorful without being overpowering. It was a great complement to the Yellow dal.
Moving on to the bread, the Cheese nan was a real standout. The bread was soft and fluffy with just the right amount of cheese melted on top. It was a great accompaniment to the other dishes and was perfect for sopping up the flavorful sauces.
Finally, the Laccha paratha was another highlight of the meal. The layers of the bread were perfectly flaky and the flavor was amazing. It was a great choice to have alongside the other dishes and was definitely a crowd-pleaser at the table.
Overall, I would highly recommend this Indian restaurant to anyone looking for delicious, authentic Indian food. The Yellow dal, Bhindi masala, Cheese nan, Laccha paratha, and Mango Lassi were all excellent dishes that I would definitely recommend. The service was impeccable and the atmosphere was perfect for...
Read moreWhenever I travel to a new country, I have to try at least one Indian restaurant. For our trip to Greece, Namaste Indian Restaurant in Athens was my choice. Shorty story: My expectations were exceeded!!!
Breakdown:
Location: A quick walk from Monastiraki Square. Easy to find (good signage).
Service: Excellent considering Franklin was the only person taking care of every table on a surprisingly busy Sunday night. Franklin is very kind, friendly, patient, and efficient. He made our family feel welcome and, even though he was extremely busy, he never rushed us. And he's just a super cool dude.
Food: Superb. My wife said her tandoori chicken was extremely flavorful and perhaps the best she's ever had. She ordered medium spicy and felt she could have handled the hot.
The other dishes we got (saag paneer, aloo saag, mutter paneer) were ordered medium spicy and 100% on-point. Very good flavor and each item paired nicely with our traditional (butter) naan, garlic naan, and laccha paratha. Note: Franklin convinced the chef to make a dish that wasn't on the menu (paneer tikka masala, medium spicy). It was excellent as well!!!
The appetizers (samosas, onion bhaji/pakora, spicy peanuts) hit the spot too. My wife absolutely loved the spicy peanuts.
Overall: Namaste is one of the best Indian restaurants I have ever been too. I would definitely go again. And Franklin is an awesome host. Thank you, Franklin and Om...
Read moreI rate this restaurant Zero stars all round. The staff were rude from the moment we walked in. They sat a group of 5 of us on a small table with a chair on one end when the restaurant had lots of space to either push 2 tables together or sit us at a larger table, on the pretense that tables were reserved. No-one showed up to sit in the larger seats whilst we were there for 2 hours. The food was mediocre, mango lassi copper glasses were not full, vegetarian menu was very limited, portions were small and they lied about pricing. We were asked if we wanted butter on the roti, to which we agreed. At payment, we were charged €1 extra per roti for butter. There was no mention of this on the menu or when we were asked if we wanted butter. Instead of €2 per roti, the cost was €3. When queried, the manager said, "Butter costs €10 per kg so I must charge for it." I asked him why there was no mention of the extra price on the menu or any time in the serving process. If I knew upfront, I would not have had a problem paying and did he use 600g of butter for 6 rotis? Was that why he added €6 to the price? He replied, "Let me make some money and took €3 off the bill!" His attitude was entitled, arrogant and disgusting. No wonder the restaurant was quiet at dinner time. Save yourself the aggravation. Indian Haveli and Royal Dosa House had much better customer service and much...
