Nancy's Sweet Home — Restaurant in Athens

I tried 2 desserts here, well actually 3 if you could the ice cream on top.

1. Kunefe: this was basically kadayif and in the middle it had something weird. Not cheese but almost like custard. It tasted really awkward. Very sweet but tasteless. There's no cheese pull or texture.
2. Kazan dibi: So this one looked interesting. Unlike regular kazandibi this one was a lot more voluminous. I ordered and tried. Unfortunately the top part that's supposed to be caramelized naturally by baking isn't caramelized. It's simply burnt with a torch. So you're basically eating coal and it doesn't have any pleasant taste. Feels like you're eating cancer. The worse part is the actual dessert. It doesn't have a proper texture. It's supposed to be a thicker than pudding, softer than flan texture. They put way too much stabilizer on this that you're eating some milky starch blob.
3. ice cream: the flavoring is mastic which is the only nice thing. As soon as it came to our table it melted away. Doesn't have the texture of an ice cream.

For kunefe, there is another place across the road. It's more expensive but worth the price compared to this one. I think the name is Zoubourlou, there is also another restaurant a little further called Karamanlidika, that restaurant also serves kunefe that's better than here.

Was there last week and very dissapointed so i gave it a second chance this week. Well what can i say... Pretty bad service again, they crew (a rather young man) at the door and the girls that take orders was not nice and no smiles or welcoming words, they want us to go out again when we just walked in, and did show us out in a rude way without explaining anything. In the end they showed us a small table in the corner and put all 4 of us there. I asked if they are stressed and the answer was short and rude again, they just blame it at the custumers... hm??. I guess the supervisor/manager do not no about this or their behavior but i think he should do. This was a good place back in the days (years ago) but i it changed my opinion nowdays. Actuelly really chocked how they treat costumers this way at the door and the service inside. Worth mention that this is actuelly the second time this month with the same expirience. I think the crew are sick and tired of their work or just playin out the owner behind...

I had a very disappointing experience at this pastry shop. My husband, our 1-year-old child in a small stroller, and I arrived planning to quickly buy a dessert to take home. At the entrance, a staff member asked whether we wanted to sit or just buy something to go. When we said we only wanted to get some deserts to go, her “polite” response was to please leave the stroller and one of us outside be and that only I should go in to choose the dessert. Her justification? Not enough space in front of the dessert display, and an accident may happen if we enter with the stroller. This made absolutely no sense — it was a simple pastry shop with a display case, nothing inside that could possibly be dangerous. The way we were treated was unnecessary, unwelcoming, and frankly discriminatory towards parents with small children. We left feeling very uncomfortable and unwelcome. Never got to try the desserts.
