VENETI FOOD HALL PSIRI — Restaurant in Athens

Went there during the noon to ask when they close - they said at 22:00. So we came back at around 20:30 to enjoy some patisserie and coffee, but BOY. The lady at the coffee machine wasn’t very efficient nor was she very friendly - she took on one coffee cup order per time?? We were with four and only started ordering before she turned around to start the first coffee and didn’t turn around again until the coffee was done. So it took a while to get all four coffees. The lady serving the cakes was much friendlier, but the cakes themselves were pretty bad. We had the chocolate one, strawberry one and the lemon tart. The chocolate was immensely sweet. The strawberry one was okay, but was mostly gelatin. And the lemon tart wasn’t meringue but marshmallow… Then at 20:50 one of the waitresses came to tell us they would close up soon, but we literally just sat down as the service took to long?? Plus the closing hour is literally 22:00?? She just said something about her boss wanting to close and we just finished up quickly in order to leave the...

Very unpolite stuff

As I asked the Guy in front of the pizza oven if here is the right place to order a spaghetti carbonara, he only answered to me: Kalyspera (good afternoon).

As I dont understood and asked again he said to me again only Kalypera and nothing more. As I asked a third time he ansered only the same word. Then came a collegue women by side and said to me: He is saying to you Kalispera.

As I undersood that he wont service me before he does not here Kalyspera. I said I dont want anything from him now, he turned to his colleque and saud to her: better so...

As I told the story afterthat to my wife she said that all the stuff here is very unpolite...

We had breakfast 3 mornings and a late afternoon coffee and dessert at this incredible coffee shop, bakery at their location on the corner of Afroditis and Leof. Posidonos in the Varkiza, Athens neighborhood near the beach. Many different fresh, warm breads, breadsticks, breakfast sandwiches, pastries, mini breakfast pizza, ice cream and the best filter coffee we ever tasted. During 3 days we tried many items. All the absolute best ever. Eat in or take out. A special hello to server Christus at that location so kind, friendly and professional who took great care of us all 3 mornings.
