Must visit home-turned-cafe for a refreshing iced tea or lemonade break!! I walked past it on my first day in Athens while on my way to the Ancient Agora, and the flowering bushes and quaint cafe chairs basking in the sun drew me in. It was bustling at that time of day, the courtyard full of chattering people and more vines. I didn’t stop then, but kept thinking about it, so went back a few days later to enjoy the space and read my book. Well worth it, so glad I came back!
When you walk into the courtyard, find a seat anywhere (it’s table service, so a waiter will eventually come out with a menu and water). I ventured inside the 2-story house to see what else was inside, and I’m glad I did, as I found a wooden staircase that led me to the 2nd floor with multiple rooms, the bar where a woman was making the drinks, and a gorgeous covered patio. The inside had seating that felt like you were in someone’s house (in a good, welcoming way). I opted for the patio to enjoy the breeze on this hot day.
I read my book for 2 hours, intermittently noticing the coming and going of other visitors enjoying their own beverage break. Two drinks were 7€ in total. Well worth the lovely afternoon. Hope to go back next time...

We went to order some drinks, and they insisted that we take a seat. After sitting for 20 minutes, I went back and they said they didn’t see us, so they finally brought back some water and said they’d bring us our two coffees. We waited for another 15 minutes, and we didn’t hear from them again, so we decided to leave. For a place that was so boastful of their coffee, I guess it’s because it’s so good that they want to keep it for themselves. EDIT: I know the owner thinks he’s being clever, but we never received our coffee after over 30...
Read moreA lovely café, situated in a restored neoclassic building ... with a beautiful patio and terrace ... on a quiet street, only a few steps away from the Roman Agora. 😊👍😊
It's the perfect place for a refreshing beverage or a coffee after an exploratory walk of the area ... or as I often do on my way back from walking around the Acropolis!
On a warm summer day, I love their homemade lemonade, not too sweet & with a whiff of aromatic fresh mint! 😋👍😋
The service is very friendly and welcoming.👍
If you get a chance, check out the other rooms of the café and look out of the window of the living/dining room ... and enjoy the view towards the...
