I must preface by saying that I hate writing critical reviews, especially in Athens where I spent over 2 months and experienced exceptional hospitality and countless wonderful meals. However this dining experience left a bad taste and was my worst dining experience. I got a bad feeling from the beginning when the waiter ushered us to sit near the smokers --against our protests-- despite having many other tables available on a quiet Sunday. Waiter spoke to us in a patronizing way, possibly as we were two foreign, female diners and this is a touristy area. I had not had this experience anywhere in Athens. Appetizer and salad arrived quickly and the green salad was very nice. We waited a considerable time for the slouvaki which upon arrival was cold, and fatty. It is worth mentioning this was early Sunday afternoon and the place was not busy. The waiter had just forgotten about us. The meat was presented ridiculously hanging from a spear over a plate of fries. As we waited so long for the meal to arrive we were no longer hungry. The waiter, upon seeing our displeasure with the food tried to offer up yet another plate of food to satiate our currently turned off appetites, which we declined. We said we were not hungry anymore, but he kept trying to push more and more food to us. He would not listen to us when we said we were not hungry and was visibly upset when we told him to take away the wrapped vine leaves that he pushed on us and we did not order. Despite trying to tempt us with more food he never offered to take the uneaten meal off of our bill, which would have turned this experience into one that was much better. My Athenian friends warned me against eating in Plaka-- I encourage you to follow their advice. There are countless incredible dining experiences in Athens, where you are treated wonderfully and are valued and respected. This is not one of them, and take your...
Read moreThe place is sloppy, I had two flagship dishes: feta wrapped in thin crust with honey sauce and a lamb leg. The starter was tasty the feta was a good quality one (although the taste was very plain nothing that will blow your brain off). Then came the lamb which was a complete failure, first it was wrapped by A3 foil size (and they actually expect customers to untangle it), it had no taste whats or ever (perhaps if you are an elder person and used to boiled washed chicken then you could have like it), the potatoes in the side dish were well cooked but not as well cleaned, on top of it they were warmed on a pan (which probably was dipped in the sink with some detergent and wasn't washed well) it gave the potatoes slightly weird after taste. If you guys from dia Tafta are reading this (I wouldn't expect any other reader to read as far) you could do some thinking on how to fix the view out side put some flowers or something it looks quite crap. Ha and btw the host was very good! she knew the dishes with the right details, could professionally explain how they were made, and really took good care of the customers (it's not her fault the...

The restaurant locates opposite from Stoa of Attalos - Museum of the Ancient Agora, with Acropolis in the background. Under the last ray of the day, it looks beautiful and enchanting.
Our group sit inside. Two live performers, singing. Their music is loud, making to carry on a conversation hard. We could only talk during their breaks.
Each table has a twins container, only one is filled (with olives); and a skinny bottle of sweet star anise liquid.
5 tables with 10 dinners on either side. The server keeps skipping an appetizer for the group.
The deep or dark red cake is so sweet that it burns my throat -:). I’ve the...
