If you look for a quiet, relaxing place: DONâT BOOK THIS ACCOMMODATION.
Yes, the location is perfect, and the rooms look stylish and well-equipped, on first glance. When we booked, the accommodation rules stated that parties were NOT allowed and we therefore booked an (expensive) suite, assuming we would have a wonderful, relaxing time. Unfortunately, the booking information did NOT mention, that there is a party venue on the rooftop (Muse Urban Venue â same owner, apparently). Right on top of the room that we had. We were therefore completely taken by surprise when â on Saturday â there was a big, loud party happening. There was NO information by the reception/management upfront (e.g.: âhey, we have a party/event happening tonight, sorry for inconveniencesâ or any other creative / amicable communication).
The rooms are not soundproof in general. You can hear almost everything happening next doors and in the corridor. The door to the corridor does not shut tightly â you see the floor light through gaps in the door frame. So, the party on top was creating huge noise levels and vibrations in our room. People were literally dancing Sirtaki on top of our bedroom. The bed and everything in the room was vibrating, people were shouting: it seemed as if they were right in the room, it felt like the whole building would collapse. We had a flight leaving early next morning and hardly had any sleep that night. Unfortunately, the management did not react to our messages in the night and we therefore requested some sort of compensation.
Whatâs even worse though was the reaction the next day: In the morning, when we again raised the party noise to management/reception and asked how they would compensate the inconvenience, the response was NO friendly or understanding âhey sorry for the inconvenienceâ or any other form of acknowledgement. Instead, the receptionist bluntly replied that refund would only have been possible âif you requested it yesterday and if you had released the room. Refund is not possible since the moment that you used the roomâ. We wonder: how that should have played out⌠The party got lounder and louder from around 11pm. Were we supposed to pack our things, look for another room in the middle of the night and move there (until 6 am, when we left for the airport)? Conversation from the reception side was very unfriendly and not at all understanding/supportive. Strong recommendation to management/reception: put yourselves in your guestâs shoes and work on your service-orientation.
Long story short: If you donât mind unfriendly attitude and loud party noise â the location is perfect. If you look for somewhat more service oriented and quiet: Look...
