This review is for the Golden Hall shop. Our 2nd family visit within the same hour to buy some extra candies and ice creams wasn't that pleasant. The cashier lady was absent from her post leaving the other lady do all the work. So we waited and waited for our turn to come. That actually didn't bother us since we know that sometimes you need to wait. After a few minutes of waiting the girl which was left alone working had to go in the backstage of the shop and ask the cashier for help. In the meantime 2 more clients joined our waiting game while I was still 2nd in the line. Once the cashier lady came back she went and served the last person in line so I had to ask why I wasn't the one to be served next. Her reply was that I needed to pay first and then go and ask to be served. So, imagine me waiting with a 4yr old kid, being 2nd in line and after 5 minutes of waiting being told by the cashier that I had to wait even more so the 3rd client and 4th client in the line had to be served first. By the way there was no sign of this directive of yours neither did the lady working tell me about this while in my first visit I first ordered and then paid. Actually in our first visit the cashier lady was the same as it was in my 2nd visit. Your products and serving is very nice but your customer service is similar to a Greek public service. This incident took place in the evening on Wednesday January 24th aroung 20:30 and 20:45 at your...
Read moreHans and Gretel in Athens is a charming establishment that immediately captivates with its inviting ambiance and visually appealing decor. From the moment you step inside, you're transported to a whimsical world reminiscent of the classic fairy tale.
The interior design exudes warmth and coziness, with a touch of enchantment that adds to the overall dining experience. The attention to detail in the decor is commendable, creating a welcoming atmosphere that beckons you to indulge in a delightful culinary journey.
While my visit primarily revolved around sampling their sweets, I must say they did not disappoint. The desserts were a treat for both the eyes and the palate, showcasing skillful craftsmanship and attention to flavor. Each bite was a symphony of taste sensations, leaving me craving for more.
However, it's worth noting that my experience was focused solely on the sweet offerings, so I cannot speak for the savory options available. Nevertheless, based on the quality of their desserts and the inviting ambiance of the place, I would certainly recommend giving Hans and Gretel a try if you find yourself in Athens and in need of a...
Read moreThis place has all the bells and whistles! Except the bells and whistles don’t work… It might look quite nice but the taste ruins the experience of me. I had the slushy and one of those decorated doughnuts. First of all, the slushy had a poor consistency. I couldn’t finish half of it before it got to that "frozen" "hard to drink with a straw" state. I’ve experienced much better slushes in Athens and I would advise against this one. Secondly, my doughnut just tasted cheap and dry. Honestly, you’re paying more for the instagram post than the actual taste of the product itself. To their credit, the toppings themselves weren’t bad. But with a dry, cheap tasting base like that, it’s hard to call it good. A poop with glitter on top is still poop. 2/5. I might come back. But it won’t be for the slushy or doughnuts. All this being said, this review is based purely on my experience with these...
