⚠️ Massive Tourist Scam – Stay away! ⚠️ We ordered exactly 1 kg of fish (75€). Instead, we were handed a fake handwritten bill of 162€ in Greek, filled with items we never ordered and with doubled prices. While we were waiting over an hour for our food, the staff asked us where we were from. When we said Germany, they repeated “Germany” and “Germania” several times, laughing among themselves. Later it became clear why: they had already decided to target us for overcharging. When we asked for clarification, the staff wasted 20 minutes with lies and contradictions. One moment they said one thing, the next moment something else. They even brought out the menu, pretending that their own waiter “did not know the dishes” and had to look them up. To silence us, they even claimed we “should have paid much more” but that they gave us a big discount – completely ridiculous.
This was not a misunderstanding. It was a planned scam. They expected us to just pay and leave. But when we called the police, they panicked. The waiter who served us suddenly “didn’t speak English” anymore and disappeared. Only when they realized the police was really coming did they rush to hand us 60€ in cash and beg us to cancel the call. A shame for Corfu’s Old Town and a disgrace to the city’s reputation. Shame on you. You are selling your conscience and the reputation of your own city for money. Corfu...

What an absolute gem nestled in the heart of Corfu Town! From the moment we were seated along the charming cobblestone steps, the atmosphere at Taverna Skalinada was captivating—intimate, authentic, and full of character.
We started with a traditional Greek salad served with fresh crusty bread and local olives—simple, but bursting with flavor. The grilled seafood was nothing short of spectacular. The stuffed grilled squid was incredibly tender and perfectly seasoned, while the grilled octopus was charred to perfection, drizzled with a fragrant olive oil dressing and accompanied by a vibrant salad and fava spread.
What truly elevated the experience was the warm hospitality. The staff moved with rhythm and joy, serving generous platters with pride and enthusiasm. Watching the lively service and seeing beautifully presented dishes carried out to happy diners made it feel like we were part of something special.
Dining here felt like a true taste of Greece—fresh, soulful food in a picturesque setting with heartfelt service. A must-visit if...

We have been traveled since 14 days across Corfu. 3 days in Korfu Town. And this was the most awfull and expensive "food" which was served in the whole time! This is just a commercial local for steal people's money. The service was grumpy and unfriendly. The Gyros smelled and looks like it was deep-freezing. It was very dry. The Pizza was sticky like a warmed up one. Bäh! Not even a nibble delicious.
Stay away and search in some more quite alleys for a restaurant. You will be surprised about the price...
