Eklekton — Restaurant in Municipality of Chania

Came across this store while I was just walking along the streets near to the Old Port in Chania. Was attracted to the range of products on offer. The owner of the shop shared that his shop is relatively new and he opened it to showcase his Olive Oil from his own plantation. Tried their Olive Oil and was really impressed with the quality and taste. The owner was very friendly and personable and it was a very pleasant experience just browsing through the whole range of goods that he carried. All the merchandise were organic and well presented. When I was in Chania, someone suggested that I go to Eklekton. My only regret was that I found out about this store towards the end of my trip! The owner of the store is very kind and knowledgable, and takes the time to explain the ingredients in the products and where they were made. He sells many local products with quality ingredients, and there are many vegan and gluten-free options as well! I ended up buying granola, pasta, a variety of bars, and some of the best olive oil I've ever tasted. If I had more time in Chania (and space in my luggage), I would have bought soooo much more. Absolutely great little shop for some gourmet grocery items. Kostas, the owner, was so helpful and knowledgeable about the products in the store. He also gave my husband and I multiple samples of honey and olive oil to help us decide which products we should buy. He explained where the products came from and what makes them top notch. Highly recommend this store! Give Kostas a visit and he’ll help you with all your needs.
