A delightful Mykonian evening at Niko's Taverna (with a flavorful finish!) Niko's Taverna was the perfect setting for a relaxing and delicious evening in Mykonos. We arrived for dinner at 8:30 pm and were immediately charmed by the outdoor seating. The temperature was delightful, and the ambience was ideal for people-watching as the vibrant town came alive at night. Our server, Aries, was a true gem. Attentive and friendly, he made us feel welcome and ensured our dining experience was smooth and enjoyable. The meal itself was a delightful exploration of Greek flavors. We started with the cheese croquettes (Τυροκροκέτες), a warm and crispy appetizer that perfectly satisfied our initial hunger pangs. The mussels with tomato, garlic, and cheese were a fresh seafood and savory sauce. The star of the show, however, was the lobster fresh (Αστακός φρέσκος). Perfectly cooked and bursting with flavor, it was clear this lobster had come straight from the Aegean. Paired with a delicious glass of wine, it was a truly special dish. To cap off the wonderful experience, we finished the meal with a taste of Greece itself – masticha, a unique and flavorful aperitif. The perfect ending to a perfect evening. Overall, Niko's Taverna provided a wonderful evening in Mykonos. The combination of delicious food, attentive service, and a charming atmosphere makes it a restaurant I would highly recommend to anyone visiting the island.

Grilled fish ( silver snapper) was very delicious. We originally saw red snapper ( 3 times bigger than this fish ) and decided to try this place however we learned that they sell red snapper by kilos (22 for 300 gr ) and it was a big fish for two people and we wanted to try several dishes and by waiter’s recommendation we tried silver snapper and it was a perfect choice and I really recommend it. Also we liked fried anchovy , we added house vinegar to some of it ( their house vinegar’s taste was also really good) and ate rest with lemons. We also ordered grilled octopus , fried squid , moussaka and seasons salad. We loved the small octopuses in fried squid, and I can really recommend seasons salad.

We went for lunch on a Monday at the recommendation of our hotel and it seemed to get good ratings. We were seated immediately without a reservation. The location is good, in the middle of Mykonos town with other cute shops and restaurants. The service was pretty typical of Europe, not much attention given or friendliness provided but they did the basics. We ordered a Greek salad, the Assorted Seafood (€25) and the Lobster with pasta (€30). The bread was delicious. Very soft and fresh, a good start to the meal. The Greek salad was fresh and yummy. Lots of fresh chunks of tomato, some cucumber, onion and bell pepper with a block of seasoned feta on top. Very classic. The Assorted Seafood was squid, sardines and prawns served with fries and a side of tartar sauce. Is ok but the menu said "fish" and we got sardines so technically ok but not what I expected (my fault for not asking). All of the seafood was fried (similar to fried calamari) and served in a fry basket lined with paper (also unexpected for the price) but unfortunately all of the fish was overcooked and rubbery. The lobster was served on a plate on the side of a bed of spaghetti with red sauce. The lobster was also unfortunately way overcooked. Some of the meat was so stuck it would not come out of the shell. The pasta tasted similar to store bought box spaghetti and the red sauce lacked seasoning and flavor. So in the end, we loved the location but I can't recommend the food that we ordered. Based on other reviews, there seem to be other items on the menu that are delicious. Sadly we will likely try another spot for lunch next time.

Niko's has always been my go-to place for lunch on the few occasions I've visited Mykonos. My first time (several years ago) the food was decent and the prices surprisingly reasonable given how expensive the island is. I stopped here for lunch again in July 2024 on my journey home from Ios but things seemed to have gone downhill a bit. None of the waiters are particularly friendly and you can tell they have an attitude of just getting people in and out, rather than making any effort at customer service. I ordered a moussaka and Amstel beer, both of which arrived quickly. The beer was fine, of course, but the moussaka quite dry and it had obviously just been kept warm for a while. It was also very heavy on the aubergine/eggplant, with little meat and not much sauce. I was also charged €2-3 for two very small slices of dry bread that I hadn't asked for. In total, the meal was €23 which felt steep for what I got. Most Greek islands you can get moussaka for €8-10 maximum, I think they charged €13-14 so definitely a Mykonos premium. The best thing about Niko's is it's location close to the old town port and large number of tables, so it's usually easy to get a table, but I think I'll try somewhere else next time.

Underwhelming experience. I ordered their special of the day, a roasted lamb in lemon gravy with mashed potatoes. My wife had the chicken souvlaki. Both of us were completely unimpressed with their food - completely bland and flavorless. Neither the lamb or the chicken were seasoned and the lemon gravy was extremely runny. She had to order a tzatziki on the side (the souvlaki doesn't come with it) after a few bites to have something for mask the blandness. The service was decent enough - however, we did not appreciate the server adding on an additional charge (of about 8 euros) for the "complimentary" bread that is served while your waiting. I've never heard of or seen this practice before. For how much we paid, we expected much greater food than what we got. For reference - we had a chicken souvlaki, tzatziki (to mask the bland food), roasted lamb and a couple of soft drinks and our bill was €55...quite pricey for a quick and flavorless lunch!

The restaurant was recommended to us by our accommodation. Even though it has not such a good rating we wanted to give it a chance. However, most of the things written here are true: you get bread and olives without asking, but you have to pay for it (2€/person) and it is 1 slice/person… We did not know the price and wanted to order bread either way… The main dishes are tasty (we cannot complain about the food, it was fresh and different to other places). The portions are rather small and the price is accordingly not as cheap as it seems to be. The staff is not really friendly. We were nearly the only guests and there were 5 waiters, however they ignored us most of the time…
