Arrogant, discriminatory and lawless – a disgrace in the name of hospitality If I could give zero stars to Scorpios Mykonos, I would. This establishment is not only unprofessional — it is openly discriminatory and dangerously arrogant in its treatment of guests. We had a confirmed table reservation, made days in advance, and reconfirmed by Scorpios staff the day before. At no point were we informed of any “minimum age” requirement, nor was there a mention of a face control policy. Yet upon arrival, my daughter and her friends — all over 20 years old — were denied entry suddenly and arbitrarily, told that on that particular day they decided to only allow guests above 23 or even 25. Just like that. No prior notice. No apology. No logic. When I called later to request an explanation, the staff in reservations responded with cold cynicism: “This is what we decided that day. That’s how our policy works.” They then hung up the phone mid-conversation. Another staff member attempted to justify the incident by saying "this is a private business, we can let in whoever we want and we also had face control that day." This kind of thinking is not just ignorant — it’s legally questionable under Greek and EU consumer protection law, which prohibits arbitrary discrimination in access to services. Even worse, they tried to excuse the situation by saying that “the girls who confirmed the reservation weren’t working and were not present that night,” as if that somehow makes the whole fiasco acceptable, (the reservations office as stated by them is not in Mykonos either..) So are we supposed to call the bouncer at the door to ask for clarification when the confirmed reservation is denied on a whim? The sheer lack of professionalism, the condescending tone, and the total disregard for customer dignity is astounding. Not only did my daughter and her friends spend money on transportation for nothing, on waiting lines for nothing.. they were rejected for no reason other than someone inside probably decided to sell the table to someone spending tip money. That’s what it felt like — legalized theft, wrapped in designer sunglasses and fake exclusivity. To be clear: this wasn’t a nightclub only, this was a restaurant with a confirmed reservation — and even nightclubs cannot legally impose such arbitrary age limits without clear and justified policy stated in advance. Scorpios seems to think that being "private" means being above the law and basic decency. Their staff sounded like they had less legal or ethical understanding than a 12-year-old — ironic, considering they're so eager to turn away people under 23. Let this be a warning to anyone expecting professionalism or hospitality: At Scorpios Mykonos, you’re only welcome if they "feel like" letting you in that day. If you believe in fairness, dignity, and basic respect — take your...
Read moreThis sorry excuse of a “sophisticated” venue deserves a zero.
Despite securing a reservation at Scorpios over a month in advance, my experience was nothing short of appalling. Scorpios markets itself as one of Mykonos’s most iconic and exclusive destinations — a refined beach club promising sophistication, hospitality, and high standards. Instead, we were met with rudeness, discrimination, and blatant unprofessionalism.
After spending over €50 on transport to get there and dressing appropriately for the venue, we arrived eager to enjoy a night we had built our itinerary around — only to be greeted with a cold and condescending attitude. The staff member at the entrance looked us up and down, made a derogatory comment asking “Where are your parents?” (which was both inappropriate and offensive), and then questioned our age.
Despite confirming we were 18 (the legal drinking age in Greece although we were only there as two girls for a dinner reservation) we were told “We don’t take people your age” and denied entry. Nowhere on their website, booking confirmation, or terms and conditions was there any mention of an age restriction beyond the legal limit. Meanwhile, we watched numerous other guests — some dressed far less appropriately and without reservations — being ushered in without hesitation.
We had complied with every requirement. Reservation, deposit, attire and conduct. Yet we were dismissed based purely on apparent age, with a tone that was both hostile and demeaning. It was clear that the venue exercised selective, discriminatory entry — FAR removed from any standards of professionalism or hospitality one would expect from an establishment of its reputation.
For a venue that demands so much from its guests including hefty deposits just to secure a table, Scorpios delivered nothing close to the experience promised. It was a night we had planned our entire stay around, and it was disputed by a team that seemed more concerned with appearances than integrity. Scorpios is nothing short of the Mykonos chock which was compounded by the fact our rejection came from a security guard who looks and smells like he wouldn’t get let in himself - unkept, barefoot and reeked of BO.
Overall horrible experience with no one to complain to - I would give zero stars...
Read moreScorpios is one of the coolest restaurant/music venues I’ve ever been to and is definitely a Mykonos bucket list item for a killer sunset, top-notch sound system, and great house music. Food and drinks were overpriced, a bit above standard Mykonos price-gouging.
We were welcomed by kind hostesses and they wished my Dad a happy birthday as they escorted us to the restaurant, however, we were very disappointed by the dinner service…
A pleasant guy named Yannis introduced himself as our server but then disappeared-never to be seen again. Instead some other guy that never introduced himself asked if we were ready to order, and when we needed a minute, he lectured us on the 2 hour time limit of tables - rough first impression. Then I asked to modify a house cocktail with a house tequila instead of mezcal (which he said would be no problem). When the drink came, it was very clearly mezcal. I normally wouldn’t mind, but a €23 drink needs to be exactly what you ask for. When we brought this up, he got defensive and said (for the first time) you can’t change a house cocktail and that mezcal is technically tequila… I started getting mad that I had to fight him on this (which honestly never happens) and it took our entire group saying JUST TAKE IT BACK AND BRING A MARGARITA for him to finally accept that maybe it wasn’t worth the fight. He seemed to realize tensions were a bit high by then and mostly kept quiet. Dinner was very good overall (we did family style steak, chicken, and veggies). When he asked if we wanted dessert my Dad said “I don’t know, do we have time?” 🤣 (not your typical birthday dinner interaction).
Finally some other third guy (the servers all seem to be guys) came over with the bill to maybe take the heat off of our server for a tip. We still gave a small tip (classic Americans) and got the first smile of the night from him as he wished us a good night.
Thankfully we didn’t let this ruin things for us and we still had a great time listening to the musicians and dancing around the coastal lounge area. Having gone to Spilia for lunch that same day, the service there was far beyond what we got at Scorpios.
Overall, I’d recommend visiting but we hope they can improve their service from the rude and pretentious attitude we...
