I find it really strange that this place was so highly rated. We had the worst lunch during our stay in Rhodos. We are Greeks and have visited the island more than 15 times and can definitely judge good vs bad food. Our main complaint is about food taste and quality . We had meat dishes and all of them were ranging from bad to average. In particular the beef steak was overcooked (served very well done although it was ordered medium) and the greens garnish was just to fill the empty space on the plate (some green salad, two tomato slices and some ready made french salad sauce). The lamb kleftiko was out of a big animal and definitely re-heated so that it was smelly, had no juices left and where it touched the pot it was burned. Some big pieces of cheese and peppers were added but had no taste as they were not cooked for hours together with the meat in the oven as they are supposed to. The food was very expensive especially for the quality offered. And considering how well and tasty we ate all previous days at the restaurants nearby (same street ) like Greek stories, koukos and stavlos, I would recommend to avoid it. Maybe the fish and seafood is better otherwise the reviews on the internet are really not making sense. To be fair the staff was very kind and polite. Hope this is taken as a constructive criticism and the quality improves...
Read moreWe came here for dinner with the whole family and had such a wonderful experience that I just had to leave a review. After a few disappointing (and overpriced) meals at touristy spots around the city, Thassos was a true gem that completely changed how we see the local food scene.
The food was absolutely delicious — fresh, flavorful, and perfectly prepared. Every dish felt like it was made with love and tradition. But what truly made our evening special was our waiter.
He was incredibly friendly and attentive, clearly passionate about his work and Greek cuisine. He took the time to chat with us, joke around with our little one (who absolutely adored him!), and even recommended several local places on Rhodes we should visit — places only a local would know. It felt less like being served in a restaurant, and more like being welcomed into someone’s home.
Restaurants like Thassos remind us why we travel — not just to see places, but to meet people and share experiences. Thank you for an unforgettable dinner! We’ll...
Read moreMe and my 2 kids (13&17) visited this as we where in the area and based on the reviews at Tripadvisor . It was okay however I was a little disappointed , I’ve eaten dozen of Greek salad and the one I got here (8,9€) was smaller and somewhat boring - nothing special. Big draft beer is 5,5€. Bruschetta 5,5€ Both kids got pasta dishes- which again were good..
We came around 19:00 so they had plenty of empty tables - service was good are our dishes arrived quickly.
Would I go back - probably not, as I mentioned the food it’s good but I feel the place is missing A bit of the Greek authenticity we had elsewhere- maybe because of the ratings at...
