Container Art Cafe — Restaurant in Municipality of Thessaloniki

Absolutely unacceptable treatment by staff. I entered and said hello to the staff and asked to use the bathroom before I ordered. I was traveling alone and didn't want to leave my stuff behind while I was in the restroom - I do this all the time and have never had a problem. The man working blocked my entrance and told me "no" without any explanation. I further explained that I was going to order a coffee, I just wanted to use the bathroom before I sat down. I tried to explain and make him see that I wanted to order something and stay there but he literally stood by the door holding the door open, motioning for me to leave. He then got angry at me, raising his voice to me and telling me, literally, these words: "this café is different, this place is not for you." From that, I'm guessing he was angry with me because I'm a tourist and I don't speak Greek. I understand 100% a place wanting you to place an order before you use their bathroom but he didn't even give me an opportunity to order and actually kicked me out of the café, embarrassing me in front of all the other guest there. I've traveled to 60 countries in my life and work in the travel industry, and I have never been kicked out of an establishment before even having a chance to order. The man who was working the day of writing this (January 7th) is a complete embarrassment to hospitality and deserves to lose his job or his business if this is how he believes its acceptable to treat customers. An absolute joke. His rudeness ruined my entire day and nearly left me in tears. PS, the café smelled overwhelmingly of cigarettes in the 30 seconds I was permitted to be in there before I was kicked out so I wouldn't recommend sitting...

Like the previous reviewers mention this guy (probably the owner) must have mental issues as he doesn't want his customers to use the restrooms - pretty weird passive aggressive behavior. We were not attended for quite a while...so we go inside order coffee. Without asking if take away or not he gives it to us in a paper cup although we were already sitting at a table. Later when we want to use the bathroom he blocks the door and says we cannot use the bathroom as we ordered take away and aren't even allowed to sit there. He says he is sorry, but it's impossible to use the bathroom while holding the handle so we can't enter the bathroom. First we thought he was joking as the situation was so absurd :) Coffee...

Δυστυχώς δεν έχει μηδέν οπότε έβαλα ένα αστέρι. Εγώ δεν πρόκειται να σχολιάσω ούτε την ποιότητα του καφέ (δεν δοκίμασα) ούτε και την αισθητική του καταστήματος (παρεμπιπτόντως είναι πολύ καλή). Εγώ θα μείνω ΜΌΝΟ στο γεγονός που συνέβει μεταξύ εμού και του επιχειρηματία. Μπήκα σήμερα (14/04) στο cafe διότι ο 5χρόνος γιος του κουμπάρου μου, που βρισκόμασταν στη παιδική χαρά της πλατείας Αριστοτέλους, ζήτησε να κάνει τα τσίσα του. Οπότε, αντανακλαστικά, σκέφτηκα, από το να τα κάνει ο μικρός σε κάνα δέντρο στο πάρκο, ας μπω σε ένα cafe, να πάρω και έναν καφέ, να κάνει και ο μικρός τα τσίσα του στο wc του cafe! Ο επιχειρηματίας δεν μου επέτρεψε να βάλω τον 5χρονο στο wc του καταστήματος με τη δικαιολογία πως είναι μόνο για όσους κάθονται στο μαγαζί. Αρχικά δε κατάλαβα και του διευκρίνησα πως δεν θα πήγαινα εγώ αλλά το 5χρονο. Η ίδια απάντηση (και με απότομο τρόπο θαρρείς και τον πρόσβαλα). Φεύγοντας σκέφτηκα πολύ το γεγονός και κατέληξα πως δεν μπορούσα να μη γράψω κάτι γι αυτό το συμβάν. Να ξεκαθαρίσω κάτι, ο εν λόγω επιχειρηματίας έχει δικαίωμα, αναφαίρετο, να ορίσει την "πολιτική" προσφοράς υπηρεσιών του καταστήματος του όπως αυτός επιθυμεί και γουστάρει και με όποιον τρόπο γουστάρει, γι αυτό άλλωστε κι εγώ αποχώρησα χωρίς να το κουράζω άλλο...! Και εγώ όμως, ως πολίτης, προσωπικότητα, χαρακτήρας, καταναλωτής/πελάτης έχω αναφαίρετο δικαίωμα να σχολιάσω, να κρίνω, να κατακρίνω, να θαυμάσω οτιδήποτε μου τραβήξει τη προσοχή, οτιδήποτε με ενοχλήσει ή με ευχαριστήσει και αυτή η συμπεριφορά με ενόχλησε. Γι αυτό και εγώ νιώθω την ανάγκη να το καταδείξω και φυσικά σε όλους τους γνωστούς μου θα δυσφημίσω τον επιχειρηματία, όσο για τους μη γνωστούς μου που θα διαβάσουν το κείμενο αυτό ας κρίνουν και ας βγάλουν τα δικά τους...
