Palati Thessaloniki is so much more than just a taverna – it’s an unforgettable experience. From the moment we walked in, we felt the warmth and soul of this special place. It’s easily one of the best tavernas we’ve ever visited in Greece, and a true gem in Thessaloniki.
At the heart of it all is Elena, the amazing owner, who makes every guest feel like family. Her hospitality is beyond words – welcoming, genuine, and filled with love. From the very first moment, you’re not just a customer, you’re a guest in her home. Elena has a unique ability to create a warm, familial atmosphere that makes you never want to leave.
And the food? Simply incredible. Everything is fresh, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. The seafood – squid, calamari, shrimp – is outstanding. Fresh off the grill, tender, juicy, and expertly seasoned. The fish is top quality, and every bite is a celebration of Greek culinary excellence. From the meze to the salads, everything is served with care and attention to detail.
The service is equally amazing – fast, friendly, attentive, but never overwhelming. The staff clearly love what they do, and it shows in every interaction. You can truly relax, enjoy the music, sip some local wine, and let the experience take over.
The atmosphere is authentic and full of life. Greek music plays softly in the background, the decor is charming and traditional, and the energy is pure joy. It’s the kind of place you visit once – and then can’t wait to return to again and again.
If you’re in Thessaloniki, don’t miss Palati. Whether you’re looking for incredible food, outstanding service, or just a place to feel at home while enjoying real Greek hospitality – this is it. Palati Thessaloniki – simply an amazing, amazing,...
Read moreIt all started with a search for a taverna with live Greek music. Had a short list of 4 places to go through. First place was nice yes claimed that all was booked so we wnt to the second choice, Palati. Very nice hostes welcomed us in and we already started to enjoy the live music. As it was a bit cold close to the door the manager moved us to an inside table of four although we were only two. From there on we went for the food trial, fried cheese with honey, fish eggs salad (TARAMA) and a tomahawk steak. Portions are very generous, all were very well seasoned and the steak was tender and in the exact preparation level. Hose desert was a surprise of creame and millefeuille. Inside seating of 40 people in tables of 4 or 2. Decore of rick walls like an old taverna. Atmosphere with the music is purfect for a happy evening. Prices are resonable. Service was wonderful from start to the end. Important note...before leaving the place my wife noticed there is a second floor. Over there was a larger band with a singer and a bigger party. Guess seats were booked in advance to that floor. Anyway it would have been nice if the seating lady told us about it when we arrived. At least as curtesy. Added...
Read moreWe made a reservation at this restaurant on a Friday for Sunday evening. By chance, we walked by on Saturday and had our reservation explicitly on the terrace confirmed.
When we arrived on Sunday, we were greeted at the door by a young man, around 18 years old. He attempted to lead us to the second floor, claiming that our reservation was there. I informed him that we had reserved a table on the terrace, to which he reacted in an extremely rude and aggressive manner.
He repeatedly and impatiently pointed at his reservation book, trying to show me that our reservation was listed for the second floor. He kept doing this over and over again, clearly annoyed.
We had specifically requested to sit on the terrace because there was live music, which was the main reason we chose this restaurant in the first place.
At this point, I demanded to speak with the woman who had originally taken our reservation. However, even she was unable to help us.
Due to the disrespectful and aggressive attitude of the young man with the reservation book, we naturally decided to leave the restaurant.
A very unprofessional experience, completely undeserving of the positive...
