Hassapiko — Restaurant in Municipality of Thira

I had the worst experience here that almost ruined my Greek vacation. I came here on a hot day (like every other day in this beautiful island) and asked to purchase a bottle of water. The man with the tattooed arm who works behind the bar looked at me, and then hastily grabbed a lukewarm water bottle and said 2 euros. I asked why other customers (non asian) were getting cold water bottles but that mine was clearly not refrigerated. He lied and said they ran out. I sat down with the water to catch a breath; I then saw him continue to give cold water to the next customers ( also non-asian).

He was supported by his owner, an older woman, who basically ignored me as if I didn’t belong here. While I have not received this type of treatment anywhere else in Greece, I can understand that they would not be a fan of Asian tourists (I’ve seen the mainland Chinese tourists destroy the reputation for all other Asian tourists) but this was just completely unprofessional and unacceptable. I. would never frequent this...

This Bar was Nice but very small . They had a live dj playing music and our group of 5 were laughing and the Waitress came to tell us to be quite because nearby hotel guest were sleeping, Yet they had a live DJ playing very loud music . We were a little confused . And then another waitress told us to get away from the bar because we were blocking the bar so other guest could oder . There was plenty of space at the bar so i’m not sure how we were blocking bar . yet we were ordering drinks . We didn’t feel welcomed . The night we went to this bar there was not Many people there so i’m not sure why we were treated this way , we were the only few customers actually having drinks and spending money at this bar. I own my own business also so good customer service is a must especially when customers are spending money. Someone needs to talk to these waitresses about these issues or they will run off...

The single star is because the ambiance in the bar is nice with interesting decor. Otherwise, it was a terrible experience.

We ordered non-alcoholic mixed fruit drinks, one was watery while the other overly sweet The service was extremely poor, with no acknowledgement of us wanting to order. The worst part was at the end when we went to pay, they tried to scam us by returning the incorrect amount of change. Then, when I asked for the correct amount of change, they were extremely condescending and rude.

Finally, while I don’t want to assume, the service for non-Asians did seem significantly better, as the waiter and bartender were flirting and proactively servicing a table of white girls. Would NOT...
