A Sunset Dinner to Remember – A Perfect Start to Our Honeymoon in Oia
We reserved a table at the Sunset Rooftop at OiaGefsis, and the restaurant did not disappoint—seating us right in front of the most breathtaking view of the Oia sunset. It was the perfect beginning to our honeymoon, and the experience only got better from there.
One of the highlights of the evening was how warm and thoughtful the staff at OiaGefsis were. They were more than willing to capture a few photos of us just as the sun was setting, which made the moment even more special. It’s something we’ll remember forever.
We started with the Kiwi Kiss, a beautifully crafted cocktail that was as refreshing as it was Instagram-worthy. For food, I highly recommend sharing a few dishes—the flavors are exceptional across the board. The tzatziki with fresh bread was a standout: creamy, tangy, and perfectly balanced.
We couldn’t help but order the green salad after spotting it at another table, and it was just as impressive—made with fresh fruit and a savory dressing that brought everything together. The lemon chicken was grilled to perfection, served with juicy greens that complemented the dish so well.
We loved OiaGefsis so much, we asked if we could return later in our trip—and thanks to the kind and accommodating manager, we were lucky enough to snag a second reservation.
This is the spot to try in Oia. Gorgeous views, unforgettable food, and top-notch service....

This is one of the only places on the island (with a rooftop terrace that has sunset views) where this would NEVER happen. We even had a conversation with the waiter about it and his philosophy was basically if you look for the money you loose the customer service, the vibe, and everything that makes your restaurant special. His name was Phillip and he also gives FANTASTIC menu recommendations.
All the items on the menu we had were amazing. Highlights were the orange prince cocktails and the Santorini white wines by the glass. Also the salads are unique and fresh (pick something other than the Greek salad!! Try something new) the lamb was melt in your mouth amazing, the fresh fish was served with steamed veggies and these twice cooked crispy potatoes that are somewhere between a French fry and a chunk of mashed potato and 100% delicious. The red mullet tartare and the meatballs were also unique and delicious. Even the chicken souvlaki was really flavorful and the chicken was super tender.
Prices are very fair for Santorini. Book a reservation ahead if you want to see the sunset from the roof. Like a few weeks ahead.
The atmosphere is lovely even if you don’t sit up top, and they even have heaters and a bar upstairs for...
Read moreThis place has an excellent rooftop terrace to eat and drink at the bar. Staff a little disorganised. I made a reservation for myself and fiancee. Arrived on time, two male staff members at the front entrance advised us to go inside and we will be looked after. Went inside, another staff member greeted us, then told us to go upstairs. Went upstairs to rooftop, was asked by a woman if we had a reservation. Gave her details, then she passed us on to another male member of staff. He took our details again, pointed over in the corner and told us our table was there. We walked over to the corner, expecting him to follow but he didnt. We were unsure what exact table was ours. Then ANOTHER member of staff came over and told us where to sit. Then ANOTHER staff member took our orders. We felt like we got passed around too much through all the staff. Food was average however, prices are OK. We ordered a bread appetizer with tzatziki, but was told we would need to order extra bread as it doesnt come with much. (OK, why not then just include more bread with the dish to begin with.) When it arrived, the 2 slices of bread were both the size of a dorito crisp with an absolute mountain of tzatziki, strange. Main courses were decent. Wouldnt tell people to avoid however, the sunset view is brilliant. Im sure there are nicer...
