Meteor Cafe — Restaurant in Municipality of Thira

Absolutely terrible. I went in to order and take the (extremely overpriced) drinks to our table since no one was coming to take our order. The person at the bar was being very kind and everything was fine until another very rude man with a blue shirt came in to then pretty much tell me off for ordering and said “We’re the waiters, we’ll take the order and get your drinks” when no one was doing so during the time we were sat waiting. I went and sat down again to then wait another 5 minutes for the drinks which were there and ready for me to take, to get taken to me by the very rude “waiter”. To top that off, not only did he give us a new receipt with an extra €2 added on for no reason, but he came back over and started having a go at me and my girlfriend saying that “You only go in to order at Starbucks and not at other cafes” which is very untrue! I then asked him how he wants us to pay and if we should go in or just wait for him to eventually turn up and he replied with “It’s simple, cash or card.” Which was not what I asked, but I just moved on and asked to pay straight away, and he never came back with the card machine to take our payment! Wow, why am I not surprise to see all the bad reviews. Me and wife travel frequently and we are also in the hospitality industry and I can tell you this place should not even do business. After a long day out we decided to stop here for quick beer. We sat down in the outside area. First waiter came out and threw the menus on the table and walk away. After about 10 mins another waiter came out and asked what we want. I was about to asked about the beer, and was rudely interrupted and he told me I am suppose to greet him first before I order. He was VERY aggressive and told me here in Greece we greet first. I was gobsmacked about his aggressiveness. I have never seen anybody talk to someone like that. I literately though that he was going to hit me, I still don't know what triggered this behavior. I said to my wife lets rather leave and still he didn't back off, instead pushing himself up against me and shouting at me. I don't know if he is a waiter, manager or owner, but i would suggest people to avoid this place at all cost. The few times we walked past during our stay they were not very busy for season time. Then I saw all the bad reviews they have. He should not be in this industry and he spoil the rest of your holiday. The whole incident give Santorini a bad memory. Avoid...

Best coffee in Oia! Don’t listen to the last few recent reviews, my husband and I were enjoying this cafe on the morning the family came in. They had their whole family leave negative reviews spreading lies. Servers were beyond accommodating and apologized for a fly (it’s an outdoor cafe) accidentally getting into their food and offered to make them a new omelet which was not enough for the family. Husband proceeded to throw a fit and be extremely rude to the server behind the counter and the server who was helping them. Again, this cafe is outdoors, flies are out of their control. And they immediately apologized and tried to make them a new omelet. My husband and I loved this place and went three times during our stay in Oia. Always great service. Great for a midday coffee pick me up or alcoholic beverage. Great light breakfast or lunch options as well. Great view. Super nice servers and chill atmosphere. Tourists need to be more respectful to those who welcome them into their towns...
