Bad way how to treat tourist. Something looked off. No wonder I had that instinct. Finally I come inside, just wanting breakfast. Politely stopped at entrance and let them know for 1 person.
I sat down big table view side very corner, friendly water giving me menu sitting in the corner still got a view. Then I got up and transferred to same row closer to view with the same table size, suddenly this other waiter comes to me saying I can’t sit there because I am alone and the table is for 4. I said, i was sitting same table size there what’s the problem with moving he said not possible. I said not to worry because I am ordering lots and I am quick with eating as well. He said still not allowed. Mind you the place was empty!!! But still picky who is allowed to sit where! So disrespectful! I said i know how business works here with the best view for lots of people ordering only, he denies it (it’s clearly obvious he was pointing at same table (for 4) size where he wanted me to sit instead, but away from view only for 1 person) and said I can’t order that much. I said you would be surprised how much I will order. He said ok if thats so - u need to be eating 50£ +, i said I haven’t ordered yet but u already decide how much i pay. (Which is rude) He said breakfast already closed 11am, I arrived 10:50 and waited for 20min. He throws me the menu, i call the other (friendly) waiter and suddenly the owner comes and signals me too leave very rudely and not even asking why and what happened he said he doesn’t tolerate disrespect to his waiter. I said how do you know he was not disrespectful to me at first? I try to talk with him but he insulted me and then owner said I don’t care im the owner and u need to go or i will call police, he sounded aggressive and raising voice, his body was very close to me clearly no knowledge in personal space with costumers. I said u have not asked ur customer what’s wrong. He said theres no place for rude and disrespectful people in his place.
No problem, u earned less money now. Never judge tourist with their affordability.
Never called disrespectful in my whole life yet this place calls me one for having a simple conversation. Good luck with the real rude tourist who thinks your place is cheap.
Pitagyros place has fancier standards than this place and is even cheaper.
This place is overrated and overhyped but from the whole island where I ate the best expensive food this place doesn’t value customers and makes only money from you. Avoid.
Im in shock how thirsty they are with tourism not caring about customer service. All they want is money they don’t care about your experience.
The view is not even that special compared to others who treat you with respect. Discouraging eat place,...
Read moreThis is not a place that I would recommend for a very poor service. We entered the restaurant early in the morning at about 9 am and they sent us to the roof where we saw a lot of free space, also nearest to the balcony with a splendid view. The waiter asks us handling us the menu:What do you want? I said: Coffee. He asked again impatiently: Coffee and what? Then he send us to the place near to the street as he said that the place near to the sea are for people who take breakfast and for these who take only coffee they have the places without the view even if the places closest to the sea were disponible. My boyfriend wanted to leave right now because it was simply rude, but we were tired after going from Fira to Oia from 6 to 9 this morning on foot and we stayed.I think that they could organize themeselves better, they could mark places upstairs with inscripts: for beakfast and for coffee only and let people decide if they want to stay and not ask people: Coffee with what? so they can segregate. Because it is clear that they treat better people that spend more money and it is not a good image-building strategy. We drank our coffee which was good, went to toilet and then we waited and waited and waited for the guy to come so we can ask for a bill.He was occupied with bringing beakfasts to tables and taking orders from people seating nearer to the sea=more profitable clients. When he eventually came close to us to take orders and ignoring us again walked downstairs I rushed downstairs and I asked at the bar for a bill.It was 9.50 euro and I gave him 10,he said thank you and left.We were still waiting there as I didn't wish to give him 50 cents tip for such a service. He were occupied with his stuff, totally uncounscious of us waiting. The other waiter asked him to come to us after us waiting there for a while.I said that I was waiting for my 50cents as I didn't intent to give him a tip because he was rude.He gave me a coin and I left the place with him rushing out and shouting to my boyfriend that it was simply our fault. That's the first time that I decided to write such a review, but really it was the worst face of Greece I can immagine: treating people as if they mean money only, contrary to the hospitality and wholehearted attitute so such present here...
Read moreThe experience was quite disappointing. Surprisingly, I encountered a case of bullying on a Greek island, something I had never faced before. As a Greek myself, not a foreigner, I was vacationing in Santorini, looking forward to a wonderful time. After enjoying the beautiful sunset, my girlfriend and I sought a refreshing drink to cool off. We stumbled upon a charming establishment and decided to head up to their partially vacant terrace. Finding a table in the third row from the balcony, we politely inquired if we could move closer once it cleared to fully relish the breathtaking caldera view. Unfortunately, our request was met with a refusal, and without any explanation. No sign of reservation was evident, yet it seemed as though we were being unjustly judged. We ended up spending 45€ for just two glasses of wine and a dessert. What compounded the disappointment was the discourteous behavior of the waiter, who even raised his voice at my girlfriend when she attempted to ask him once more, despite there being empty tables. Though I was tempted, I managed to maintain my composure and not let my frustration get the best of me. It's saddening to experience such treatment. Instead of fostering a sense of camaraderie among fellow Greeks, the incident left me with a sense of disillusionment. Perhaps, tourists who aren't familiar with local issues receive more favorable treatment. It's my hope that establishments like this, which prioritize profits over patrons' experiences, reconsider their approach or face closure. It's a disheartening...
