Read moreReally disappointing :( my only negative interaction with someone from Greece was the lady at the counter.
She asked if we would like to eat in or take away. We decided to have our coffee there, little did we know that upstairs was more expensive as no one told us. Looked at the menu and decided to take away our coffees as it said €8 on the menu which to us was crazy! Another group of 4 had also done the same thing as they realised.
Anyway we told the server we would prefer to take away which she stated was fine, so we went downstairs to pay. We ended up having to re-order, the lady asked what I wanted. She made the coffee in a takeaway cup and then after we went to pay and she tried to charge us for the upstairs service charge still? Even though we had not been served our coffee there. She became very argumentative, stated that they only get paid €25 working in the cafe? (not my problem). Customers started looking at her. And then the server stated that one of the workers would have to pay for our coffee?? 😂😂 obviously to guilt trip is. despite the fact it probably costs less than 1€ to actually make the coffee.
The other staff were nice enough, it was mainly that woman that was the problem. An older man working there had just told us to take our coffee for free, however we refused to. This older man was really nice (I hope he was the owner as he seemed kind). We refused to take our coffee as we were upset with the service and being guilt tripped by the server.
Really disappointed as I feel this could be a nice cafe if the staff were more considerate and if the pricing was more...
Read moreNote that these comments are based on vegetarian dishes ordered just before their closing time … We were looking for options to eat and this place looked good and had great reviews too so we tried, at 11:15 pm…and they told us they are open so in the end my expectations is that they should serve us as well with the same way like you go earlier in the day Ordered two pasta dishes, pesto pasta and pasta with tomato sauce also added a mocktail from their special menu…. Verdict: Mocktail: Average, specially for the price of EUR 10 Tomato sauce pasta: Not good, was not fully cooked, they didn’t use olive oil also felt like it was made with tomato puree instead of fresh tomatoes.. Pesto pasta: this was better but again didn’t feel like they used olive oil here as well
Now either they use some other variety of olive oil or it was late so they just did a make shift arrangement but overall we did not like the experience. Also on telling the server the issues we were just told that they do we use olive oil and the taste of the tomato sauce pasta might be because of sage in it, anyway felt more like excuses and the server was not also willing to entertain any complains…
Given that so many have written good reviews maybe other dishes of this place are good and maybe if you go earlier in the evening they might serve better with more fresh stuff but to us this was unfortunately not the...
