I am told that there are 150+ restaurants in Kamari but trust me there is only one that is the very best... Tertipia. My wife and I tried 6 different restaurants in Kamari during our week stay and simply had to go back to Tertipia restaurant on our last night to sample more of their Tapas menu. In our two visits we tried 8 out of the 12 Tapas that they offer and two of the salads which too were fantastic. All Tapas were beautifully cooked, beautifully decorated and beautifully presented in cast iron dishes. All dishes were very filling and much larger than we were expecting. Our favourite tapas dish was the Feta cheese in filo pastry with thyme honey and black and white sesame seeds followed closely by the Pork bites with colourful peppers, honey-mustard sauce &, sesame seeds. But all the others were not far behind. When you walk along Kamari beach nearly every restaurant has someone trying to encourage you in to their particular restaurant. Tertipia is not on the main beach strip but easily found if you turn up the road between Alismari restaurant and Mango restaurant where most of the shops are. Walk up about 300 metres or so and it is on your right. It is a small restaurant so gets busy quite quickly but you can always book with Nick for an evening table (He was a fab young host) if you are passing earlier in the day. Unlike the other restaurants Nick does not try and pursuade you to go in. Whilst Tertipia do offer some of the main meals that nearly all the Kamari restaurants seem to do, what stands out for me is their Tapas menu is so different and First Class. We came out both of the two nights with full and contented bellies. So thank you Nick and your fabulous Chef and ...
Read moreWe tried to get a seat at the restaurant three nights in a row. The first night they had closed the kitchen. The second night, they ran out of food after the Easter Monday rush. But the third night, we succeeded. And it was worth the wait! The hospitality and food were the best we experienced during our stay in Santorini. The honey wine aperitif and dessert for two at the end of the meal were offered on the house as was the wine. The owner appreciated our patience and made sure our experience was excellent. Can’t say enough about the Terapita salad! I’d eat that everyday if I could. Thank you for making the...
Read moreMy favourite restaurant! What a gem! We were looking for lunch and stumbled upon this place. I’m celiac so need gluten free food; the staff were able to tell me all the dishes that did/n’t contain gluten and were really patient when I double checked everything. Most of the food was gluten free and it tasted incredible. This was my favourite place on the island. All of the food was traditional Greek cuisine and made from fresh local ingredients. So much flavour and variety, and the portion sizes were reasonable for the price. Definitely do not...
