By far the worst restaurant experience I ever had due to the fact that the man at the front of the door not only deliberately lied to me and my family but then tried to charge us even more than what we ordered. We were just casually looking at the menu as we hadn’t decided where we wanted to eat. The waiter was persistent and kept telling us to come in and eat and that he would give us free dessert. I asked him if he had any gluten free items on the menu as I am gluten intolerant and get very sick if I consume it. The man told us definitely and they could make anything gluten free, including the pizza and pasta. I took his word and sat down with my family. They brought us bread, olives and dip which they charged us for despite making it seem as though it was on the house. Nevertheless, we decided to order and I asked for the pizza. That’s when the man who previously told us anything could be make gluten free decides to say no we don’t have gluten free pizza. I then asked him why he told us there was and he started to say that he didn’t understand what we had asked him before. I asked about the pasta being gluten free and turns out that wasn’t either! He was unbelievably deceptive and started to blame us for not understanding. He kept telling me to order the salad and I politely told him I did not come in for salad. At that point I was ready to leave the restaurant but regrettably stayed to not inconvenience my family. He told me to make up for it he was going to make me a salad on the house and that I could choose. Before I could even look at the menu he told me to hurry up because he didn’t want to wait around all day and had to serve other customers. He just told me he would bring me some salad and walked off. I didn’t even get a chance to choose this “free salad” that he offered me due to his impatience. It took over an hour for the food to arrive. My mom ordered the pasta which was in a very small ramekin, making it look like it came off the children’s menu. My salad was lettuce, carrots, tomatoes and cabbage with no dressing. I asked for some dressing and was only given olive oil. It was the most basic, bland and tasteless salad I had ever eaten. Once we were given our receipt it was all in Greek and I couldn’t understand the prices. When I went up to ask I realised that this con artist had charged us 10 euros for the “free salad” that he repeatedly promised was on the house and would be no charge. At that point my blood was boiling as he not only took advantage of us to get us inside but then proceeded to charge us more than what we asked for. He also included a tip for himself on the receipt because apparently thievery deserves a reward. I refused to pay for the salad and after calling him out on his lies he begrudgingly took it off the receipt. I wouldn’t recommend this place...
Read moreWas given bread and water on being seated, that came out instantly, but was charged for it at the end without them making it clear in the beginning. But was given free dessert for the kids, ice cream but enough watermelon that we all shared it. There is a paid car park right in front €8 for 4 hours and closes at 10pm but the guy in the restaurant said he has a key if needed to let us out if it goes past 10pm.
We are not the bread munching type but we had some and my kid had some dairy free bread.
It’s a busy place and the prices are ok.
The food - no complaints.
The atmosphere was good and it was bussing with people.
They made dairy free chicken nuggets from fresh chicken for my kid as he has an allergy, but then popped mayo on his plate luckily it was in a bowl and not touching the food.
My daughter had Pizza and chips both were good. She changed her mind twice after ordering and one of the waiters was very rude about it, she is 8. But the did it in the end.
I had a burger but they explained it’s just a burger, I asked for a bun and no tomato and it came with a tomato in, a few chips on the side with a little side salad and we also had another dish we didn’t order which was two burgers with salad. We sent back as we didn’t order it. They were ok with that. The guy who encouraged us in was very nice and just this one who took our order was a bit rude and he got it wrong - so I dropped 1 star for that.
They should tell people the water and the bread is charged. If you don’t eat it they will charge you for it. It was an extra €4 for the bread for us 4. They gave us a bottle of water as well before we could say anything it was cracked open - but if you don’t want water or bread, just tell them before they pour it in.
In the end I think it was €48 for 2 water, 1 can of Coke Zero, 4 bread, 1 burger, 1 kids pizza, 1 chips and 1 kids nuggets and chips. So a bit pricey. But free desert for the kids and a good few chunks of watermelon. It was good food and...

What a hidden treasure! Just a short walk away from Kamari beach lies Amelia's Tavern, a charming family-owned restaurant that truly captivates the essence of Greek hospitality. From the moment we stepped in, we were embraced with warmth and genuine friendliness from the staff. Their dedication to ensuring a delightful dining experience was evident with every interaction.
Being mindful of dietary restrictions, particularly celiac disease, can sometimes dampen the joy of dining out. However, at Amelia's, the owner's personalized attention and knowledge of gluten-free options were exceptional. The gluten-free pasta was a revelation, earning rave reviews from our celiac member from our party.
Our group continued with a variety of appetizers, salad, and mouthwatering pizzas, each bite bursting with flavours. We were so happy with the experience that we couldn't resist returning not just once, but twice more! The highlight for me? Everything. However, the decadent chocolate soufflé is a heavenly indulgence.
Amelia's is more than a restaurant; it's a oasis of hospitality, where every smile, every dish, and every moment is crafted with care. Whether you seek warm welcomes, delectable cuisine, or unbeatable value, Amelia's delivers on every front. A heartfelt recommendation to all seeking an unforgettable dining...
