I was online looking for a good place to eat, and Elias Grill came highly recommended. With all the positive reviews, we decided to travel from the top of the island to have our dinner there.
First off, the food is good. My wife and I both really enjoyed it, but unfortunately, the staff's service was disappointing. Honestly, the poor service took away from our overall enjoyment of the food.
The staff seemed disorganised. My wife and I understand that mistakes happen, and we're always sympathetic when they do. However, it felt as though the staff were deliberately ignoring us and focusing their attention elsewhere.
For example, we asked for cocktails, which were messed up. Then, our food order was incorrect. We also requested soft drinks, which they messed up too. One of the staff members who took our drink order kept glancing over at us but never attended to us, until we had to ask another staff member. When the drinks finally arrived, I overheard her saying, “they want the other ones,” as if she knew we were waiting. I think her name is Anna (based on a picture I saw tagged with her name).
When it came time to ask for the bill, no one came over with the print out. Eventually, a staff member brought over a mobile device and just told us the total, without showing us the breakdown of the bill.
The situation worsened when all the staff started handing out ice creams to guests once they'd finished their meals. We were in line to pay, and all the staff around us saw us. A lady came over and handed ice creams to two other customers, but completely ignored us, even though we were standing right next to them. This felt discriminatory. It wasn’t about the ice cream—it was about how we were treated, especially since, at that moment, we were the only people of color in the restaurant.
While the food was good, the staff's behavior left a lot to be desired. If you're a person of color, I would advise being cautious about how you'll be treated. Honestly, I can't recommend this place, as there are other restaurants where the staff is much more welcoming, regardless of...

During our time in Santorini, my daughter and I visited Elias Grill – Souvlaki & Gyros in search of an authentic Greek meal, and we were not disappointed!
The staff was friendly, attentive, and truly added to the warmth of the atmosphere.
We started with a baked pepper stuffed with feta cheese, a flavorful and satisfying appetizer that was cooked to perfection. The combination of the soft, creamy feta and red and green peppers was absolutely delightful.
For our main course, we chose Two Mix Gyros from the Greek specialties menu. The meat was incredibly tasty, well-seasoned, and cooked just right—juicy and full of authentic flavors. The tzatziki was outstanding—refreshingly tangy, creamy, and the perfect pairing to the gyros. Every bite was complemented by the amazing tomatoes, which added a fresh and vibrant touch to the dish.
To accompany our meal, we enjoyed a red local wine, a fantastic choice that enhanced the rich flavors of our food.
Not only was the food delicious, but the portions were very generous. In fact, we had such a large meal that we took a big portion of leftovers back to our hotel room. The next evening, we enjoyed them again, paired with olives and pickled peppers—a second round of delicious Greek flavors that made our experience even more memorable!
To top it all off, at the end of our visit, we were treated to delicious chocolate and cream ice cream, a sweet and satisfying finish to an already amazing meal.
Elias Grill offers a true taste of Greece with its authentic flavors, welcoming service, and great value. If you’re looking for a great spot to enjoy traditional Greek dishes, this place is definitely...
Read moreHonestly, I wanted to pull a star off the rating for this restaurant due to two things:
In the end, however, I just couldn’t do it. I had to give them 5 stars and here is why…
The food is made from scratch (not re-heated) so even though you have to wait longer, it is totally worth the wait. Fresh, delicious, rich and satisfying - what a delight for the senses!
The night we came there was only one waiter. Originally the restaurant was really empty, within the hour it was full to the brim. Everyone is human and mistakes can happen, as such I was not mad. Also - the minute the waiter realised his mistake he came to the table to sincerely apologise (I was honestly delighted about the mix-up as the moussaka was sooooo delicious!). We also got a free ice-cream for dessert to apologise for the mix-up… and just for good measure I took all the leftovers I couldn’t eat home in a bag, box and with cutlery provided by the Grill. It was just so good I couldn’t waste even one bite of it!
If you are looking for “fast” food, this is not the place to go. However, if you are looking for “delicious food that will make you smile” it is absolutely the place to go.
The tables are nicely decorated, the wine delicious and the food totally worth it.
Thank you Elias Grill - we thoroughly enjoyed our meals and time allowing we absolutely...
