Read moreRUN. This is a fantastic tourist trap. The guy approached us when we were looking at the menu outside. Unlike other places, he said that we could sit on the beach for free all you have to do was order drinks OR food, NO MINIMUM, and you could do that from the beach. And they offer 2 cocktails for 1. Nice huh?
Okay, so we took 2 sunbeds. As soon as the waiter came he said that was not possible to order food in the beach. 1st red flag. Also, the cocktails cost twice as any other place, so 2x1 is a lie. 2nd red flag. We order a couple of beers, 6 euros each, which took almost 30min between the waiter coming again to take the order and bring them. We had a look on the menu and decided to go some place else. Spent about 1 hour there.
Finally, when I asked for the bill, the trap got revealed. The guy who first approached us, treating us very nicely, now changed completely. Said that 2 beers is nothing, (so I still don't know why they just don't give away free beer) and he was going to charge me 10 euros for "not consuming enough". Of course I said I was not going to pay since no minimum value to consume was mentioned. He got furious, said that's how they run business but never told me what was the minimum. So the "business" is to attract you with everything you want to hear then rip you off. He was not interested in me consuming, he just wanted money by doing nothing, or actually, by tricking customers. To complete, in a xenophobic way, trying to coerce me, he asked where I am from, which obviously has nothing to do with their modus operandi. Just read other bad reviews and you will see.
Unless you want someone else defining what is the "minimum" you should consume, go somewhere else, plenty of other places to...
Read moreIf you’re after ambience, this spot certainly puts its best face forward think Instagrammable corners and the kind of lighting that makes everyone look like a minor celebrity. But sometimes, beauty really is only skin deep.
My evening started with optimism and… a thirst for a Pornstar Martini. Sadly, this cocktail took the scenic route from the bar to my table so scenic, in fact, that the table next to me (who arrived later) was already toasting well before mine made an appearance. I felt like I’d been entered into some kind of cocktail endurance test, only to receive my reward after my meal. Perhaps the bartender was growing the passionfruit from scratch?
The Margherita pizza boasted all the rustic charm you’d hope for, but someone must have taken the “less is more” mantra to heart when it came to the tomato base. If you’re a fan of “crust lightly kissed by the ghost of a tomato,” you may be onto a winner. For everyone else, it’s… underwhelming.
Lovely aesthetics aside, prepare to pay a premium for the privilege. The food and service struggle to justify the tab, leaving your wallet lighter and your tastebuds hoping for more.
With such a pretty setting, it’s all the more tragic that the experience fails to live up to its looks. I truly wanted to love it, but in the end, awkward timing and a ghostly tomato sauce left me unsatisfied. Next time, I’ll just take a photo from outside and save my appetite for...
