Úri Muri Brunch, Cafe, Bar, Club — Restaurant in Budapest

Saturday 14th January 2023 around 22:00pm We wanted to go out for a drink and saw this place and wanted to tried it. We found a table and noticed that it was a self service so I went to wait at the bar until the bartender was done with what he was doing so I can ask him a question. He was totally ignoring him and I after 5 mins I decided to ask him and it went like this: -Hey! Do you have cocktails ? -kinda. And he turned his back not giving me a single glance. And I went -Do you have an English menu ? -(Ironic tone) No sadly we don’t have ☺️ After that I went back to our tables to translate the menu and decide. I went to the bar and said: -Okay we’re ready! He nodded and said -Okay I thought he was ready to take our order cause in other case I would say “Okay just give me some time and I’ll be right with you!” -We want 2 wh- -(aggresive tone) I am not ready! -Oh okay.. and the next line it was not expected and happened to me for the first time to me… He mocked me in front of my face saying “OKAY, OKAY 😆” mimicking my voice in higher note ! He was so rude and he didn’t even try to be polite !!!! I went back to our table and explained my friends why I didn’t want to “enjoy” my drink here. When I opened the door he yelled in a sarcastic tone “BYE!!!” making all the customers looking at us, making us feel so so so uncomfortable and unwanted. I’ve worked and still working at places so crowded and touristy and still I haven’t talked to a customers like this! Very unprofessional of him and I hope the rest service crew isn’t...

While mostly frequented by local actors and artists, this bar has about the same walk-ins as local people hanging about. The music, the attitude of the bartenders and the positioning of the venue is perfect for having beers with friends or alone. There are chairs and tables on the sidewalk, has a basement, there is an upper floor for a more discrete talk.

The atmosphere vibes and thrives, any night can lead to any kind of encounters, you'll meet musicians, actors from your favorite Hungarian shows, and perhaps that one person that is different from all the others.

Our visit to Uri Muri was coincidental, but a truly wonderful experience. We had brunch for two for a very affordable price (not even 30 euros). We each got a coffee, juice and dish and it was truly delicious. You could taste how freshly it was prepared. I was surprised by the sweet and savoury pancake sandwich (with maple syrup and balsamic vinegar amongst other things), a truly fantastic combination!
