Akácfa Beer Bar — Restaurant in Budapest

I tried posting this review two years ago, but for some reason, Google didn’t allow it. Still, I feel it’s important to share my experience.

The security at this place is absolutely insane and aggressive. We went there with a group of friends—a little tipsy, but definitely not drunk. Two of them smoked an IQOS inside, which, fair enough, wasn’t allowed. The first time, the security guy just warned us, but the second time, things escalated ridiculously. He came over aggressively, kicked the bench we were sitting on, and suddenly, a bunch of other security guys surrounded us. They started pulling on our clothes, pushing us around, even shoving our heads.

We were already outside when I saw one of them pushing my girlfriend as she was trying to calm things down. I stepped in between them, and the next thing I knew, the guy hit me in the head with a boxing move, and I was on the floor. The police showed up eventually, but honestly, dealing with all the bureaucracy wasn’t worth my time.

Never again at a sketchy...

SCAM!!! It may look cheap But the beer is 50/50, which means half foam, half actual beer. For the wine, their measurements are not acurrate. The cashier charged 500ml of prosecco (5900huf, 1180huf/cl) for a, let’s Say, 400ml. On top if that, the prosecco was spoiled: flat, stale, no bubbles. When i told her that, she told me that is not expired. The problem is that the bottle was opened a long time ago. On top of that, they are not open to admitting their mistakes. At this point I really think is just a place where the management instructs the staff to Steal from clients in these ways, Because it’s just horrific. Ambiance is not great either, it just looks like a cheap countryside wannabe american...

SCAM WARNING - AVOID!! Was charged 850 HUF for a 500ml draught Dreher, obviously because I'm not a local. Typical price even in an expensive bar is more like 690, this kind of bar 400-500 HUF.

Used to be a regular here 18 months ago because staff were cool guys and beer was much cheaper than other bars in the district. It's a basic cheap kind of place but that's part of its charm... Or WAS.

I had already taken a sip of the beer before the Barman told me the price so I couldn't tell him to stuff it and walk away. Such a shame Budapest is...
