Firstapartments gets a First Class!… : in depth review and tips below:||||Firstapartments Inn City Center, Apartment 1, Doorbell 20 (Muller), Erzsebet Korut 4, Budapest 1071, Hungary||||I visited this apartment hotel for three nights while interrailing in September 2013.||||Our original package (was for a double room and bathroom apartment). No Tourist tax exists in Budapest at this moment in time of writing.||||The apartments is located adjacent to Blaha Lujza Square metro station (one stop from Budapest Keleti Rail Station) and is within short distance from the vibrant parts of Pest (Buda being across the river Danube). Or from the main train station of Budapest Keleti, the walk to the apartment was approximately 15 -20 minutes along one main road, followed by a brief right turn.||||The Apartments provide a good base to visit all the surrounding tourist attractions and night life. As soon as we arrived, Elizabeth?, provided a tourist map and details on where to catch public transport to reach certain tourist destinations (such as Hero's square, Buda castle, Fisherman's Village, the old town etc). She was very helpful and all is guidance on reaching the attractions were correct. We were also recommended some restaurants which were nice and not extortionate at all (see other reviews).||||Please note that I think FirstApartments has other apartments in the same block as well as elsewhere in Budapest. This review is particularly of the apartment near Budapest Keleti.||||The apartment was up a couple of flights of stairs. There was no lift available. The address of the apartment also means Building Number 4, Apartment 20. Not the other way round as was what we originally thought. The apartment is very secure as long as you follow the rules set, to ensure that several doors of entry are locked enroute to the apartment at all times.||||Upon arrival to check in, Elizabeth? was on hand to welcome us in to his apartments. She was lively and showed us around the apartment. As soon as you are let into the apartments, the vast spaciousness of the apartment can only be seen and appreciated. The amount of floor space was the largest we've ever come across. She provided tourist maps, guides and info as well as advice on catching public transport and their costs.||||The apartment had: a double bed; tv; lights; wardrobe; sofa; safe; bedside tables, fridge, freezer, dining table and chairs and a separating bathroom which had a sink (with complimentary toiletries); bath/shower head; computer with desk and chair; toilet; washing machine (and washing agents); towels; ironing board; iron; clothes horse; and a hair dryer. See photos for an idea of the room. We had a view but no balcony. Complimentary wine was also made available for us.||||The room was very spacious and tall and the decor matching the hotel's theme.||||There was no breakfast available but the apartment also had a kitchen, which comprised of a full set of pots and pans, an oven, spices, fridge/freezer (asmentioned before), complimentary tea and coffee, cutlery, kettle, toaster, oven, microwave.||||The bed was very comfortable and we had a good sleep. The whole apartment was clean.||||The plus side for this apartment was the washing machine and clothes hanger. Budapest was in the middle of our itinerary during our interrail trip and we were due a pit stop somewhere to wash our clothes. I have no qualms with the washing machine here - it works! I highly recommend this place for other interrailers to consider to use.||||There are numerous supermarkets nearby. They include CBA which is across the road and Spars north on the same road or west past the metro stop. Kebab shops, bakeries and Lado's restaurant/cafe are nearby as well. Lado's was recommended to us and we found it okay. Go there for the daily jazz music in the evenings (refer to other review).||||There was free Internet available throughout. It was a good connection with no problems at all.||||The price for this hotel is fairly reasonable (less than the price to a Premier Inn in the UK - cost us £38 ish per night at the time. Definitely value for money for the quality, space and comfort of a room in Budapest - but it wasn't just a room, it was a room that was an apartment - truly a home away from home.||||Overall, the staff were fantastic in their service, guidance, advice and tips. The room was very comfortable and the location was not arduous at all - it was within travelling distance from everywhere else. If I had to come back to Budapest, I would come definitely back to this apartment for sure…||||Food = N/A (Kitchen available at your full disposal with tools)||Service = 10/10||Atmosphere = 10/10||Value for Money = 10/10||Sleep Quality = 10/10||Rooms = 10/10||Location = 10/10||Cleanliness = 10/10||Overall = 10/10||||Twitter: @hanstar007 - Scouse BBC (British Born Chinese!) Read moreWe stayed at the smaller apartment (2). The owner was extremely friendly. She was incredibly helpful when she checked us in, walking us through the whole place, and explaining where to go in the city and how to get there. She actually spent a good deal of time with us mapping things out without even being asked. There were also lots of tourist pamphlets and maps in the apartment. They also left us a bottle of wine when we arrived. ||||The place was clean and comfortable, with a well stocked kitchen (pots, pans, cutlery, cork screw). We stayed for a week so we were glad for the two extra towels in the cupboard. The location was great, perfect for walking or taking transit (less than a block away from the metro and tram). We had seen the reviews about the washing machine, but it was covered up when we arrived (I guess because it hasn't been working).||||There was a computer in the living room area to use which was great; however, when connecting to the wifi on our own devices the internet was a bit slow. There were also a lot of stairs which could be a problem for some people, and several sets of keys to enter the building and the apartment which took some time to get in and out. The hot water also ran out a few times between two of us showering. There was also a weird noise from time to time (we think from the pipes) but it didn't last long and wasn't too noisy.||||I would definitely...
Read moreHard to find words to describe how great this place is...||||The welcoming part: Veronica and her mom were the kindest and most attentive people ever - They provide pure and honest hospitality, making you feel at home. ||Such service is hard to find even in famous hotel chains nowadays.|| ||The apartment is very spacious and fully equipped with everything you may need during your trip.||||The area is for sure the best: Only 10 min. walking to town/river and surrounded by shops, supermarkets and just beside the subway station.||||The feather pillows are a huge plus - also much better than many hotels we have stayed before.||||A little note, but definitely not enough to change our positive thoughts about the place: WiFi connection initially was a bit weak (not reaching the bedroom area), so we had to find another connection option and a router, also provided in the room.||||In general, great service and we are surely...
