Brody House Cafe, Bar & Bistro — Restaurant in Budapest

We visited this restaurant twice, hoping the first experience was a one-off. Unfortunately, on both occasions, we waited well over an hour and a half for our meals — and these were simple dishes for just four people. We weren’t alone; everyone around us seemed to be waiting just as long, with many looking visibly frustrated.

That said, the staff were excellent throughout. Despite being clearly understaffed, one young woman in particular was doing an incredible job, running the floor almost entirely on her own. It wasn’t until the manager overheard us expressing concern for her that they finally stepped in to help, having previously been seated at the reception area.

The food itself was very good, but sadly not worth the lengthy wait. It’s clear the issue isn’t with the staff — they were doing their absolute best — but with poor management and inadequate staffing. With better support for the hardworking team, this place could...

Brody House is definitely a place for explorers, scoring points with its unique interior charm! The ambience is rustic and cozy, with a focus on music and other art forms. A Highlight was the live guitar that gave the whole place a special atmosphere. Unfortunately, there were also a few drawbacks. The service was very nice but a bit slow. It seemed like the team was understaffed, which led to longer waiting times. As for the food, it seemed like the dishes were mostly presented very nicely but there‘s definitely a lot of room for improvement to do justice to the great location and ambience.
