Vega City — Restaurant in Budapest

Came here on a weekday afternoon just after 12pm. The menu at Vega City changes on a weekly basis - helpfully it is written in both Hungarian and English. They offer a wide variety of meals such as Indian dishes, pasta dishes and burgers, as well as a collection of cakes and smoothies. The prices are very reasonable - a large Indian dish with a side came to about 1200 HUF. That being said, I found the quality of the food to be lacking: I was surprised to find that the Indian option didn’t have an awful lot of flavour to it. It wasn’t at all very visually pleasing (but that’s not to say I haven’t eaten delicious ‘ugly’ looking vegan food elsewhere!) and the consistency resembled that of slop. Honestly, I don't think you can fail here. I had a server guide me through all the various available options and hey, viola! I ended up with a banquet of a vegan meal, including smoothie, enough to satisfy the most hearty appetites. This is like a McDonald's or KFC, but without the crappy, life sapping food! There are two floors, you can enjoy your meal while you watch the traffic and the people go by outside. Go for it here, indulge, or even over indulge as I did and go back for second helpings! Enjoy. I can't recommend enough. When you're done try and leave your tray on the rack on the ground floor.

Update, I walked in there with a foot injury as a result of falling six feet from a ladder. I've been walking with a limp for four days. When I came out, I'm walking virtually limp free. That's the power of plants! I'll be back for some more delicous, whole food, vegan...

This is a vegan fast food restaurant, probably technically a three star restaurant but it goes above and beyond other three star restaurants in the quality of the food and the atmosphere as well. The food is super delicious and super gourmet and super healthy and the portions are big and it is very inexpensive. The atmosphere is also very nice, contemporary and comfortable with a lounge area upstairs and very nice bathrooms. The food is pre-prepared and so it is served warm, not hot. I came early in the day around 10:30am so it was fresh and the quality was high, I am not sure what the quality would be late in the day and how often they make new batches and how long they let it sit out. If freshness concerns you then I would recommend asking. Or go early. But what you get here is of much greater value than what...
