Today I had enough and I went into your café shop to complain about the big chalkboard that you are using for invitation purposes and you are placing it in the middle of the sidewalk most of the times. The chalkboard next to the chairs and tables are not leaving enough space for pedestriens to conveniently pass right next to eachother. Specially not, if any of them are carrying shopping bags so we need to stop and wait until the others are passing so we can pass too. WTF? And it is illegal too, since you are not paying for the permit to occupy public property that much. I explained this to your three employees, the guy did not really understand what I'm talking about, the girls were smiling and making faces. I got very furious about their lack of manner, so I left and stated that I am going to move the chalkboard, when Adél yelled after me from inside (you had customers) the store "Thaanks!". I'm pretty sure it is very hard to find proper workforce nowadays in Hungary, I'm well aware of the poor range of options because those who are capable have already left the country. But it is still hard to understand how can a human being who is working in the food and beverage industry can let (in this specific case) herself to be this kind of a duchebag, specially when your shop is committing a misdemeanour. I hope Adél's behavior is not reflecting the whole shop's management's point of view about how businesses should operate. Next time I have to avoid your chalkboard, I'm going to take a photo and inform the local authorities.

Read moreBudapest Baristas is a beautiful, light coffee shop with tasty coffee and nice staff - exactly the kind of place I like.
Budapest Baristas is conveniently located right across the street from the impressive building of the Hungarian National Museum. As I have noticed at a few other coffee shops in the city, Budapest Baristas also offers seating on two levels. The simple, white walls make the place very light and invite you to sit down and read. Of course, they also have free wifi for their guests.
The staff were very friendly and like at most shops in Budapest, they spoke perfect English. I chose to sit upstairs and enjoyed a beautiful view of the little shop.
The flat white was seriously good and during my stay in Budapest, I quickly became a fan of the traditional cheese pastry you can get almost everywhere. At Budapest Baristas it was made with goat's cheese. Different from others I had tried before, the cheese was smooth and not crumbly - very nice and pleasant to eat. I also bought a lovely refreshing peach croissant.
While sitting there and planning the rest of my day, I thought that if I would live here, Budapest Baristas would most likely be one of the places I would visit regularly to take a break, read some articles and enjoy a...
Read moreOther than the simple name this cafe has, the coffee is fantastic. All the way from the latte art to the beans they use for your espresso. Having been to Budapest for 4 years back and forth, I come across a few cafes that do it right (food, coffee, atmosphere).
This cozy cafe prides itself in its small yet well utilized interior. I am impressed with the way they even made use of the upper floor space. You will instantly feel how homey it is here.
The service is just great. A visible small team of a passionate chef who makes excellent breakfast, and 2 baristas who will make you come back for more coffee. Look for Anita. She is attentive, an excellent listener when placing your order, and has an eye for detail. Staff likes this makes it easy for tourists to know you're well taken care of and your order will come exactly as you placed it.
The pricing is good as well. I am comparing it to back home in Dubai. I'm paying about 20% less here for high quality specialty coffee.
Lastly, I'd suggest this place for: Solo travelers who want quiet time enjoying coffee with a view of the beautiful streets of Budapest A couple on a date A first date for breakfast A family of 3 with a toddler A "work from home" professional with...
