HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. I entered Vinikli at 4:30pm on a Sunday and purchased a cappuccino. I sat at the table near the door with a view of the street and proceeded to work on my laptop. At 5:30(1 hour after arriving) the barista asked me to move to the upstairs seating as the table had been reserved for 6pm for those drinking wine. I happily accepted and moved upstairs to sit at one of their bigger tables as there was no one upstairs and I was expecting company. At 6pm another barista came upstairs and asked me AGAIN to move to another “bar seat” upstairs, when I asked why I’m being asked to move around so many times considering there are no customers in the shop, she said “because this is the House rules”. I asked her for more of an explanation and she just said “this is what my boss says, he says the tables are only for those drinking wine so you must move”. The barista was VERY disrespectful and was not willing to give me an explanation for this behaviour. It made me feel very unwelcome and that unless I purchased alcohol they did not want me there. I am a reasonable person, I understand if the shop was filling up with people that it is logical to ask me to move but, having an EMPTY store and asking a paying customer to move multiple times is ridiculous. I was forced to tell my guests I had invited to not come anymore last minute. We proceeded to find many other, more friendly and respectful places to have a coffee.
Very upsetting experience, I do not recommend anyone...
Read moreBelow zero out of disappointment! But let me start from the beginning: The location is perfect, it's 1 station away from the river, another from Fashion street's end & overlooks the National Museum. The prices are not exaggerated at all, while not too many options are available, what's there will stasify your 1 hour break from sightseeing.
Before I get to the sad story, I want give kudos to the lady working the night-shift in there, she's super friendly & really customer oriented, which is a rare thing to find in a high turn-over rate sector like coffee shops.
The shock however came when the Tea we ordered came to our table, it was like no tea at all, and I'd assume I'm a bit ingnorant about tea making, but the end result was on my side, because the half-boiled water was barely colored after leaving the tea to steep for almost 15 minutes! I had to pay the price of an extra cup of tea to get another dose of barely visible tea rolls in order to get a half-transparent water color!!
A small advice from someone who worked closely with tea growers; you Cannot be serious about weighing soft rolled tea leaves as this shaping process locks a bit of air inside, if you'd do that for grounded tea leaves, that'd be perfectly understandable; otherwise it's not logical in any...
Read moreThe atmosphere is nice, also the ladies whos are working there are really kind and helpful, it’s a pleasant place, until the supervisor arrives. We wanted to study somewhere during a couple of hours, but on the bigger tables there were signs with a laptop crossed. We both needed our laptop to study, so we tried to make one bigger table, from the two small ones to have enough space for us. That’s when the supervisor shouted up to upstairs, that we can’t move anything and this place isn’t for studying, and also the minimum would be consuming 500 Ft per an hour. After this voice tone, we packed our stuffs and left. We would probably spent more than this hourly “fee”, but after this rude behaviour we didn’t want to stay any longer. We were the only guests in the place, but the supervisor chased us away too. We liked this place, but I don’t have to say that after this incident we will never return. I recommend the same to...
