Dang Muoi Phở — Restaurant in Budapest

Great food with not so hospitable service. I've eaten here a couple of times. The food is great and the portions are large. Even the small bowl of soup will fill you up. They have a large selection of other dishes as well which are tasty too. Some people are saying this is the best Vietnamese place in town, but I disagree, of course this is my personal subjective opinion. The only issue with restaurant is that the staff is not friendly at all, they fake smile and it feels like you are not really welcome. They have a hard time with the local language.

Edit 2023.10.28 The staff this time was nice and helpful, however we had to wait a really long time for just 2 bolws of Pho. This is a dish that can be prepared in like 5 minutes at most. The broth had little taste and the meat had fatty chunks on it. I had to heavily season it with condiments on the table to make it have flavor. Also the place has gotten expensive for what you get for your money. I would recommend other places instead of this if you are looking...

We were there with my girlfriend to have an early dinner, but the waitresses said the restaurant is full, since there were several empty tables I asked if these are booked, they said in an arrogant way “I’ve already said it”, well maybe she said it to my girlfriend but I didn’t hear it… then I asked when would the customers come for the booked tables (so maybe we can have a quick soup) she just arrogantly throw back over her shoulder “why do you care?”, besides me all the customers were surprised about this rude style. It was cold, it was wet, and I had a hankering for Pho. I hadn't tried this place, so ordered some food online for delivery.

Firstly the delivery time was half of what was expected, which was a nice start.

I had the large Beef Pho was excellent and we also had the small Shrimp Pho which was good too. Strangely I did not see too much differece between the sizes of the two soups.

The rice with beef was very good and the chicken with noodles just so-so. The fillings inthe spring rolls was tastly, but it was a bit too greasy for my liking.

This place gets four stars if only for scratching...
