Hidden beneath the historic castle walls, this gem of tour is just waiting to be unearthed and is absolutely worth the admission price. Remember, the only way to see this vast underground labyrinth is by guided tour and the tour lasts about 40+ minutes. You will enter the cave via a side door along an undescriptive alleyway and as you descend into the darkness, you will feel the cool, damp air offering a refreshing reprieve from the city above. The cave consists of winding tunnels, limestone walls, along with some ancient stalactites and stalagmite and medieval stone quarries, which have long since been abandoned centuries ago. Our guide was fantastic and provided us with a vast amount of historical information concerning the cave as well as some interesting and unknown facts. You will have to book in advance as the tours are only operated by trained guides and there are no other ways for tourists to access the caves. The guide had plenty of information about Hungarian culture and history, as well as many interesting facts about the local geography and nature (there was even a mammoth tooth that you can hold).
