The restaurant lured me in, with a very good rating and location. Unfortunately, after visiting it, I absolutely do not understand the high rating. A small surprise occurred right after arrival when the waiter addressed us with a smile in Hungarian, when we replied in English he immediately stopped smiling, well, maybe his English was stuck ... We were seated at a table in the garden, after a while the menu was brought to us, after another slightly longer while the waiter came to us to order food and drinks, we ordered and everything seemed fine. After about 17 minutes, the first dish arrived (risotto with salmon and prawns - the risotto wasn't bad tasting, but some of the rice grains were very tough (crunched between the teeth) the quality of the food certainly didn't match the price. When we told the waitress that the drinks still hadn't arrived she mumbled something and in a few minutes she brought them (wheat beer and aperol spritz), in another few minutes the second dish arrived (pizza quatro formaggi) the pizza was very good and I have no faults the same goes for the beer. The aperol spritz tasted like very slightly sparkling water mixed with the aperol (no prosecco) when we managed to get the waitress's attention after about ten minutes, she apologized and offered a replacement we wanted to remove the item from the bill - which was done and there was no problem. I paid by card everything went without a hitch. We were not completely satisfied with the service, food and drink and had no intention of leaving a tip, what was my surprise then when without asking or at least notifying us, the service charge was put on the ticket (about 12% of the bill), of course the name of the item was only in Hungarian so we only found out what we were charged with a translator. I consider this to be an unserious behaviour. We did not feel welcome in the restaurant, but as someone who is only tolerated there due to the above I cannot recommend visiting the restaurant to foreign tourists. Don't get me wrong the visit to the restaurant was no nightmare and if the food and drink cost half the price I would turn a blind eye and the rating would be higher - however, at these prices I expect better service.

I'd made a reservation in advance and we were seated immediately. This place is a 5 minute walk uphill from where we're staying and I'd read so many wonderful reviews that we had to try it as our 2 previous experiences with Italian in Budapest weren't good. We decided to sit in the outdoor space as it was a warm October day and the inside space was too warm(for us) due to heating. We ordered a classic and a mango lemonade and upon request they gave us sugar syrup on the side of the classic lemonade. The mango one was delicious and the other was refreshing. We ordered a Spinaci pizza(vegetarian) and a Branzino with Risotto with sun-dried tomatoes and spinach. They were both delicious. The risotto wasn't cheesy and the pizza wasn't dry. We had a fantastic meal, a huge thanks to the chef and the friendly & helpful staff. I'm sure we'll go back for another meal before we leave. Update: We went a second time, for lunch and the experience was almost the same. The food was really good. We didn't like the dessert as much, but it wasn't bad. We ordered the Home-made rice ice cream with raspberry sauce and almond biscuits. The Biscotti and the ice cream were nice, but the raspberry sauce wasn't as good.

Went to Riso using a last minute reservation by call. Reservation made was super simple, despite my unusual number of 8 they managed to find me spot. The distance from station is also not too bad, as i walked with our colleagues 15-20 minutes. A lot of people said that the view was great, but since we arrived hungry, we didnt manage to see much. The atmosphere was great, located near castle. Then we ate in a semi outdoor setting. Perfect place to dine in a early fall setting. Service was great, as it was pretty quick with food. They spoke good english and payment can be done via cash and card. Lastly, the food. We got 3 starters: gambas gili gili, bruschetta, and tuna spread. I would say all three was amazing. Bruschetta was great, it was not over the top but worth the price. I definitely love the gambas gili gili! Main course we got pizzas, risotto with cod, and my self got pork knuckle stew with ewe cheese potato dumpling. Was amazing nonetheless! They serve Italian foods as their signature, my colleagues said it was good.

The food was less than mediocre, mixing Italian and Hungarian cuisines that did not do just to either. Over-cooked gnocchi in a sweet cabbage sauce served with classic Hungarian roast duck in again another sweet sauce. The service was terrible if not actually rude. We were a party of some 20-odd people and they practically tried to kick us out before we could even order dessert or coffee. When we arrived the mother of a small child (toddler ) in our group kindly asked if they could please bring some gnocchi first for her son as it was very late and he was hungry. Not only were they dismayed and unwilling -- they never brought it! I would like to add that the restaurant replied to my review with lies, saying that all the plates came back empty and everyone was happy with the food. I can vouch that neither of these assertions were true in my case nor in the case of the persons sitting near me. It was a long table so I can't vouch for the others. Also, we were told we could stay until 6 pm and there were no customers waiting to be seated. The restaurant was not full and we wanted to order more food and drink, something most establishments...
