à table! — Restaurant in Budapest

This place is nearly always empty for a reason. I came in to order an a table eggs Benedict to go at 13:45 (I live close by) and the waiter told me that the poached eggs were “out”. I told him it takes 5 minutes to make a poached egg and he shrugged and told me “they are out” so I asked for sunny side-up eggs instead. I saw them laughing behind the counter and found out later they were laughing probably because side they soaked my Brioche in oil (inedible) long story short, they gave me fried eggs that were cooked nearly all the way through… then I had to go back over to ask for the hollandaise sauce. When I complained to the other waiter he told me that if I would have asked him then I could have had poached eggs and they will make them now…. This is already after I waited 10 minutes for food(not complaining), 10 minutes home and back… no I don’t want to wait 50 minutes to eat. Had they told me from the start it would have taken 30 minutes, I would have gladly waited. Fix your customer service! Went in again the following week at 12:30… they said again their poached...

I’ve been in Budapest to visit that gorgeous city with my partner for a week. We walked past this French style bistro near the Air B&B where we stayed.

It looked lovely and welcoming! We joined in for a quick brunch and everything looked fine until this guy with glasses on served us! This chap at the counter was so disrespectful and had awful manners!

My partner and I was disgusted to see that! Which is such a shame as the food was actually fresh & marvellous and the coffee was 10/10! This fella ruined our experience and should NEVER EVER work anywhere near hospitality! I have been in the industry for 20 years!

This one person ruined the entire experience!!! If it wasn’t for him I would highly recommend this place!!...

We came here with 4 small dogs on a Saturday morning to celebrate one of our friends birthday. They didnt have alcohol, but basically that was the only negative aspect of this little gem. Food was great, portions are valued to the prices and tasty, veggie options, mostly French style but u could find easily some Hungarian specials. What I have to point out is the extraordinary service we received from all members of the staff. We spilled 2 coffees, and they acted extremely professional both times. It's really rare phenomenon in Hungary - especially in Budapest - a crew with this enormous kindness. We will definitely return, mostly cause of the amazing service....
