We wanted to love this place. First the good: everything is colorful (although not as colorful as we first imagined, mostly pink instead of rainbows). The service was ok, it was a bit chaotic but the waitress was kind. The decorations and the atmosphere are great, they beought out the most of the relatively small space. Loved the unicorn head shaped faucets in the bathroom.
Now the bad: I think it is best to start with the worst part. One of us got a burger that had a pinapple slice in it that was rancid, it was way beyond being expired. If you listened closely you could almost hear it whisper in some demonic language it was that spoiled. All of us tasted it to make sure it is not just some weird aftertaste but it made us almost throw up. In a regular restaurant they would apologize and compensate with something. Here they just took it off the bill, took away the plate (with a bunch of perfectly good fries still on it) and went ahead like nothing happened with a half "sorry". Sadly the remaining three burgers weren't much better. The buns have a weird unpleasant texture, i guess due to the coloring. The cheese sauce tastes bland and super artificial. The fondue burger tasted of nothing else but this cheese sauce, so it had about zero enjoyment value to it. The burgers are just bad, i cannot say it any better. The angry (angy) burger wasnt spicy. They were colorful but thats it. It is more of an "everything is for the eyes and photos" kind of place, so dont expect anything more.
Everything that is not salty is so excessively sweet that you can barely eat them.
The menu is full of typos, and has multiple items on it that are no longer available. I would understand with a super custom made menu, but these are just simple fancy foil folders so printing a new sheet and changing it would not take that much. Also the images in the menu are quite misleading, there are items that look nothing like the image, and e.g. the milkshake lacked most of the toppings that were on the image.
The place is way overpriced compared to what you get. Expect to pay about 13-15k per person if you also have dessert. The four of us aggreed that it was not worth it, at all.
Overall, if you want to go here for the pictures, go ahead. They also have a cute phone booth decorated for photos. But dont expect anything more. The place doesnt deserve the hype it gets. Especially dont expect having an awesome taste experience. Or food that...
Read moreWith this answer from the owner I see that this place does not deserve to be open and to serve food for people. I see a lot of bad comments about this place and the owner is accusing that everyone lies and doesn’t even apologize. I was a tourist in Hungary but this situation with people who live there makes me never want to go back to that country. We got here very bad food and when I say about this, the owner doesn’t even want to admit the problem and makes us guilty. The owner says that we lied about the quality of the food in order not to pay. But we didn’t even eat the food we got, we just split everything so they can not give it to another client. The waiter saw very well the problem and when we showed him it he didn’t argue because the problem was obvious, also he took the plate straight away so there was no possibility to eat it. He also offered us a new burger and told us that we don’t need to pay, but we refused. If the problem was that we just want to eat and not pay, we would’ve taken the new free burger. I want jutting to give a piece of advice to the owner: if you care about your clients, treat them well and serve the best quality of ingredients, then the client will always give a good feedback and will pay all the bill and will leave a lot of tips. A satisfied client will never try to avoid paying as you think. I am very frustrated about this answer and now I see that the problem with this “restaurant” is only in its owner because he care only about money but not of quality and reputation. Moreover, I live in Iceland so a lot of people from this country fly to Budapest on holidays because is a very cheap country. I also have a client related business where I speak a lot with my clients, so after this answer I got from the owner, I will not only not recommend people to visit your “restaurant”, but I will on purpose tell everyone about this situation so to be sure that none of people from my country will ever...
Read moreWe went for lunch on a Friday and booked a table expecting a busy service. The booking process was very easy and got a table without any problems. Arrived there about 45 minutes early but it was not a problem at all, we could sit down right then. Service was quick and professional. We ordered the Duck Salad and a Black Fondue Burger. The former was tasty and filling for the most part but there were pieces of the duck that had parts of the feathers in the skin and that made the food a bit unappealing. On the other hand, the burger was delicious and a massive portion. The menu said the burger patties are medium by default but when I ordered them medium well done it was no problem and the server had no issues with it. The chips were thick and crispy. The serving is well presented and looks very photogenic. Drinks were good and tastefully presented. One was a “chillychee” lemonade with chilly peppers and lychee and the other a “rozmango” lemonade with rosemary and mango. Interesting flavour combinations that worked really nicely.
The atmosphere is unusual but that is the whole point. The amount of pink is almost too much and the floral decor hits you in the face but it’s a unicorn themed place so all is forgiven. The mural of the unicorn looks really good. Toilets are a bit hidden, took me a second to work out the “lashes” and the “unicorn horn” door signals. The actual toilet is small but kept very clean and well stocked. Even the faucets are unicorn themed.
All in all, a unique and quirky restaurant with a few well presented and tastefully served dishes. And despite the fact that the owner is a well known YouTuber in the country, the prices are down to earth and affordable....
