I was so fortunate to stumble upon this fascinating exhibit. It’s a small exhibit that tells the great story of Carl Lutz and how thousands of Hungarian Jews were saved during the war. It’s run by a small group of passionate volunteers who don’t have a lot of money to advertise themselves. Located within such an important historical building I couldn’t believe that it wasn’t a major tourist attraction. I implore you to visit and help advertise this museum!

It is a bit confusing to see where to enter this small, free museum, but we called the number and Laszlo was very helpful in greeting us and giving us a personal tour of this interesting one-room museum about the diplomat who issued visas to help Hungarian Jews escape the Holocaust. Check the hours because the museum is only open sporadically when there is a volunteer able to open it.

A hidden gem in Budapest: the widely unknown story of Carl Lutz, a man who showed tremendous courage and humanity in very dark times. His life and actions are displayed in this interesting building where some of his life saving actions took place. The little museum is manned by competent and friendly volunteers which also underpins the high importance civilian courage and proactivity. Something that must be remembered, always and especially in these days! May Carl Lutz and this museum get the attention they deserve. All the best...

Great potential for the place and the concept, interesting and important story about Swiss diplomat Carl Lutz and amazing story of saving Jews during holocaust behind the walls of this abandoned building. Small memorial room reminds the heroic story behind the glass house, as a symbol of fragile and on the same way very strong power of humanity. Best wishes for initiators, l wish you the growth...
